No, actually, the Civil rights act was imposed even thought the market wanted to integrate blacks in the US

2019-07-13 23:19:54 UTC

so it's a desirable goal

2019-07-13 23:20:32 UTC

But I want borders. That's my freedom of association

2019-07-13 23:20:40 UTC

Sounds like you don't like freedom

2019-07-13 23:20:53 UTC

Well if your freedom inters with other's then it's time for you to stop 😃

2019-07-13 23:21:01 UTC

Why?

2019-07-13 23:21:11 UTC

Because you're violating other people's freedom

2019-07-13 23:21:23 UTC

Their freedom of movement is interfering with my right to a quiet neighborhood

2019-07-13 23:21:24 UTC

and we don't want that if we want to maximize freedom do we?

2019-07-13 23:22:15 UTC

So let me get it right, two people want to associate with each others but you don't want them in "your" neighbourhood

2019-07-13 23:22:24 UTC

How can my freedom interfere with someone else's freedom? That doesn't even make sense

2019-07-13 23:22:56 UTC

@StevenStevens Yes, so what are the rules of the neighborhood?

2019-07-13 23:23:39 UTC

If two people in El paso want to associate what right does someone that isn't even there have to tell them not to?

2019-07-13 23:23:49 UTC

No one is telling you to open your house for them

2019-07-13 23:23:58 UTC

The local laws of El paso are

2019-07-13 23:24:00 UTC

altough the abolition of land lords is also desirable

2019-07-13 23:24:12 UTC

Is it desirable?

2019-07-13 23:24:20 UTC

That's a big assumption

2019-07-13 23:24:54 UTC

It is for the citizens of a nation to decide border policy, thats what makes nations sovereign. No one else has the "right" to cross the border into to associate with someone else in the same way person A can't trespass on person B's property to associate with someone else if person B isn't consenting

2019-07-13 23:24:56 UTC

This doesn't sound like freedom at all.

Sounds like some bastardized definition of freedom

2019-07-13 23:25:18 UTC

Hell, freedom itself is a dumb word

2019-07-13 23:25:23 UTC

Yes, people worrying about where to sleep and eat makes them less free, it's a loaded gun pushing them into actions they would otherwise not take

2019-07-13 23:25:37 UTC

Define freedom

2019-07-13 23:25:54 UTC

Living in a commune with my communist friends

2019-07-13 23:26:12 UTC

That doesn't answer anything

2019-07-13 23:26:20 UTC

That is true freedom

2019-07-13 23:26:29 UTC

Okay, so freedom of association

2019-07-13 23:26:39 UTC

You and your friends

2019-07-13 23:26:53 UTC

Yes freedom from landlords

2019-07-13 23:27:00 UTC

oppresive forces of the market

2019-07-13 23:27:04 UTC

freedom from government

2019-07-13 23:27:11 UTC

You can still be 100% free and still need to worry about food and shelter. After all, if you were out in a perfect state of nature you are "free" but you are not free from consequences

2019-07-13 23:27:21 UTC

Okay. But do you have the right to impose that on someone who's not your friend?

2019-07-13 23:27:40 UTC

@-5K- Only if resources are poorly alocated in our commune they won't be right komrad?

2019-07-13 23:27:53 UTC
2019-07-13 23:27:57 UTC

Because it's freedom

2019-07-13 23:28:04 UTC

How?

2019-07-13 23:28:12 UTC

Anything else is just not freedom

2019-07-13 23:28:40 UTC

So it's not freedom of association.

You define freedom as 'free from the oppression of reality' or something

2019-07-13 23:29:17 UTC

There is no such thing as absolute freedom. It is something simply unsustainable and impossible to achieve

2019-07-13 23:29:49 UTC

Freedom is when we achieve communism brother
