The local laws of El paso are

2019-07-13 23:24:00 UTC

altough the abolition of land lords is also desirable

2019-07-13 23:24:12 UTC

Is it desirable?

2019-07-13 23:24:20 UTC

That's a big assumption

2019-07-13 23:24:54 UTC

It is for the citizens of a nation to decide border policy, thats what makes nations sovereign. No one else has the "right" to cross the border into to associate with someone else in the same way person A can't trespass on person B's property to associate with someone else if person B isn't consenting

2019-07-13 23:24:56 UTC

This doesn't sound like freedom at all.

Sounds like some bastardized definition of freedom

2019-07-13 23:25:18 UTC

Hell, freedom itself is a dumb word

2019-07-13 23:25:23 UTC

Yes, people worrying about where to sleep and eat makes them less free, it's a loaded gun pushing them into actions they would otherwise not take

2019-07-13 23:25:37 UTC

Define freedom

2019-07-13 23:25:54 UTC

Living in a commune with my communist friends

2019-07-13 23:26:12 UTC

That doesn't answer anything

2019-07-13 23:26:20 UTC

That is true freedom

2019-07-13 23:26:29 UTC

Okay, so freedom of association

2019-07-13 23:26:39 UTC

You and your friends

2019-07-13 23:26:53 UTC

Yes freedom from landlords

2019-07-13 23:27:00 UTC

oppresive forces of the market

2019-07-13 23:27:04 UTC

freedom from government

2019-07-13 23:27:11 UTC

You can still be 100% free and still need to worry about food and shelter. After all, if you were out in a perfect state of nature you are "free" but you are not free from consequences

2019-07-13 23:27:21 UTC

Okay. But do you have the right to impose that on someone who's not your friend?

2019-07-13 23:27:40 UTC

@-5K- Only if resources are poorly alocated in our commune they won't be right komrad?

2019-07-13 23:27:53 UTC
2019-07-13 23:27:57 UTC

Because it's freedom

2019-07-13 23:28:04 UTC

How?

2019-07-13 23:28:12 UTC

Anything else is just not freedom

2019-07-13 23:28:40 UTC

So it's not freedom of association.

You define freedom as 'free from the oppression of reality' or something

2019-07-13 23:29:17 UTC

There is no such thing as absolute freedom. It is something simply unsustainable and impossible to achieve

2019-07-13 23:29:49 UTC

Freedom is when we achieve communism brother

2019-07-13 23:29:53 UTC

No land lords

2019-07-13 23:30:03 UTC

Yeah, freedom is a weird undefined word at this point.

Aaaand now I know you're just a troll

2019-07-13 23:30:14 UTC

Anarcho Communism on paper is perhaps the closest thing to freedom

2019-07-13 23:30:19 UTC

however unattainable

2019-07-13 23:30:21 UTC

Freedom (in the way I assume we are talking about) doesn't mean being free from want or need, just free from the coercion and power of others. And yes it in its perfect form is unattainable

2019-07-13 23:30:37 UTC

Anarcho Communism is way more free than anarcho capitalism for example

2019-07-13 23:30:42 UTC

indeed

2019-07-13 23:31:23 UTC

the market oppresses and forces people into actions not desirable, it's literally a loaded gun forcing people to be slaves while their bosses steal all their labour

2019-07-13 23:31:34 UTC

The closest thing to freedom would be going out in the wild with no one else around and with no one else knowing nor caring about you

2019-07-13 23:31:40 UTC

The yeah, we don't have anywhere close to the same definition of freedom

2019-07-13 23:32:11 UTC

@-5K- a state of nature

2019-07-13 23:32:20 UTC

One cannot be free while individuals profit from others work

2019-07-13 23:32:39 UTC

I can't be free unless I have the ability to pay people for their work

2019-07-13 23:33:04 UTC

Pay? Why'd you need to pay someone when there is no market?
