Regarding the Amazon vs pee breaks, I imagine the warehouse is like half a mile long, and you have a personal list of products to handle. So if you walk to the restroom, the system/supervisor records that you're falling behind.

I think people were taking pee breaks, until some asshole name Ted decided to outsmart everyone by bringing empty bottles. Now he suddenly is the most efficient worker, because he doesn't take multiple 15 min breaks to jog to the restroom and back.

I remember reading a while ago that amazon tracks how much time it’s warehouse workers spend in the bathroom, (they would be tracking a bunch of stuff obviously), and if you take to long you penalized.

You don’t want people to abuse bathroom breaks, but they shouldn’t be actively discouraged from taking them.
