but damn lol
haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
whataup
yep youre fucked up
@radeon
That's exactly the type of thinking that les to Vietnam
vietnam was 100% bureaucracy we could have easily won it if not for the pussy footing around
Keep underestimating your opponents and soon you end up fucked
Yeah like giving soldiers the wrong fucking bullets and not showing them how to clean their guns.
Im uniformed on this, why was the draft necessary for Vietnam? just occurred to me I have never questioned that.
nobody would volunteer
the war was unpopular
Eek, then why were we I it?
Like that's a bad fucking sign
Won against guerrilla? Not very likely, despite technological supremacy.
I guess I just wish we could not have to use draft for proxy wars if at all possible
because we couldn't let the communists gain a greater foothold in SE asia
south korea, the philippines, japan etc US allies are right there
Without a fight anyway
yep
and it semi-worked in korea
Korea and Vietnam are two very different stories. One was an enemy trying to actually fight in the open other was a hide&seek affair.
I understand that at least
Grand stragtic level is what I was referring to
jungle warfare is literally the worst
Vietnam had a lot more in common with Afghanistan than with Korea.
Eh Urban might compete for the worst
For one, support of the local populace in warzones was nearly irrelevant in Korea while in Vietnam it mattered a whole lot.
@Fergazar thats probably true
jungles provide little or no cover and are far harder to navigate than urban
Depends on the city
room to room fighting sucks but getting shot at without being able to see the enemy or even get behind something stronger than a fallen log is worse
Idk, urban setting is pretty atrocious to navigate in as well once the initial destruction of the buildings happens.
In addition, citys are hard because of how 3d they are
also, few or no roads.
resupply in the jungle is virtually impossible
its also very easy to hide AA in a jungle
Roads are death traps
Props and speaking too much for a modern perspective, RPGs were not exactly common back then
Perhaps*
IEDs were always a thing though...
