Can I add that it's hysterical that the phrase "the pen is mightier than the sword" came into being back when illiteracy was still common?

2018-07-09 10:29:05 UTC

Reading Twitter, I'm not sure if thats still the case

2018-07-09 10:29:12 UTC

Thats probably why it was mighty.

2018-07-09 10:29:24 UTC

Supply and demand. Any brute could swing a sword in those days

2018-07-09 10:29:56 UTC

well, i mean, you can see how mighty trumps words have become, they change the space time continuum n shit xD

2018-07-09 10:30:01 UTC

The CAPSLOCK key is mightier than the normal volume sentence.

2018-07-09 10:30:07 UTC

Nowadays... everyone can write (though not very well... if you read articles these days), but few can swing a sword.

2018-07-09 10:30:27 UTC

but swords are pretty light

2018-07-09 10:30:35 UTC

a long sword is like 1.4 kg or such

2018-07-09 10:30:43 UTC

@Deleted User It's time to clean the floors.

2018-07-09 10:31:04 UTC

really? I would have thought only a rapier or something would be light

2018-07-09 10:31:11 UTC

but when of them basterdswords looks heavy

2018-07-09 10:31:24 UTC

i have to check again, but a longsword is really light

2018-07-09 10:31:45 UTC

I think society would be safer if everyone carried a sword.

2018-07-09 10:31:47 UTC

never tried to use a rapier, but its probably lighter

2018-07-09 10:32:21 UTC

People would have to learn to control their anger...

2018-07-09 10:32:36 UTC

A regular, narrow strip longsword is pretty light. Now a big old broadsword probably weighs a good deal.

2018-07-09 10:32:37 UTC

I'll stab you good!

2018-07-09 10:32:40 UTC

And... everyone would be armed to. So, one-man-attacks wouldn't work.

2018-07-09 10:33:13 UTC

Potato peelers for everyone. As an Irishman I find it highly offensive they would class this as a deadly weapon. It's our national weapon

2018-07-09 10:33:28 UTC

well... best way to make a society work is to make sure everyone has the same values, which is why multiculture always lead to people fighting each other

2018-07-09 10:33:31 UTC

I thought that was the broken bottle.

2018-07-09 10:33:44 UTC

lack of shared values

2018-07-09 10:33:48 UTC

Is it a weapon though? or a human right? how are you supposed to EAT a potato without a potato peeler?

2018-07-09 10:33:57 UTC

wash it? :D

2018-07-09 10:34:02 UTC

You can eat them without peeling, you know

2018-07-09 10:34:12 UTC

Same as you eat a potato with one.

2018-07-09 10:34:16 UTC

What if I'm out and about... and come across potatoes that need eating?

2018-07-09 10:34:17 UTC

Fried.

2018-07-09 10:34:22 UTC

How many potatos does it take to kill an Irishman?

2018-07-09 10:34:24 UTC

None

2018-07-09 10:34:32 UTC

Pfft.

2018-07-09 10:35:12 UTC

maybe you can just use a non-sharp knife with no pointy thing? :D

2018-07-09 10:35:21 UTC

It's a good thing for the Irish that they weren't introduced to vodka sooner.

2018-07-09 10:35:28 UTC

If you can find potatoes, you can probably find a stream to wash them in as well

2018-07-09 10:35:31 UTC

I lived with poor people and ate potatoes multiple times a day ones...

2018-07-09 10:35:32 UTC

We have potcheen, much better

2018-07-09 10:35:41 UTC

it felt... awful.

2018-07-09 10:35:46 UTC

"Do we eat them or do we drink them?"
