The number of people who have been improperly put to death (where the trial was honestly TRYING to find the truth) is minuscule.

Personally, putting someone in a cage their whole life isn't much better than killing them. But if someone does something worthy of the death penalty then they don't need to sit in a cage... because they're generally not safe to ever release... and few of them will even be useful to society (notice I say few,... we don't make policies from exceptions).

I'm not sure the solution is "give innocent people life in prison, instead of the death penalty." I would say "don't let innocent people be convicted" lol

Well, I tend to agree that the death penalty should be an enhanced sentence... we really should be looking at the particulars of someone's case before giving it out.

Well, there are going to be cases where one murder is less bad than another, that is obvious.

I would encourage leftists to be themselves, and go to other countries to help those people. I don't even mind paying some taxes to fund their journey. If they can do some good, then good for them. Out they go.
