so I’ll disagree on one point: I agree that Russia is a separate entity from Europe

note: that doesn’t mean that Russians can’t be European. Just that Russia as a whole has historically been distinct enough from Europe as to be a separate culture

it’s a major point of contention in Russian thinking, you could say in the Russian soul
