can't go oustide ... again

2018-11-11 22:32:18 UTC

4chan had this stuff a little while ago and they were pictures like "I love you little sister, and if you were here right now, I'd be hugging you and playing with you. I'm sorry you never had the choice to be alive."

2018-11-11 22:32:19 UTC

Are you in SoCal?

2018-11-11 22:32:27 UTC

no norcal

2018-11-11 22:32:29 UTC

Kind of broke my heart and was great propaganda.

2018-11-11 22:32:30 UTC

it's even worse here tbqh

2018-11-11 22:32:48 UTC

I used to be in Santa Cruz, i know that feel bro

2018-11-11 22:33:23 UTC

@Selma lol ya I remember those

I just think it's really interesting that the advertisement portrayed being an only child as the *worst* possible thing that can happen to a kid

2018-11-11 22:33:37 UTC

I mean... I'm an only child and it's not *that* bad

2018-11-11 22:33:47 UTC

If you had siblings, you might disagree. A blind from birth person can not say that life is bad without sight.

2018-11-11 22:34:14 UTC

My siblings annoy the hell out of me but I can’t imagine life without them

2018-11-11 22:34:29 UTC

Who else /middle child/

2018-11-11 22:34:40 UTC

I don't think it's healthy for social skills to be an only child, but being an only child isn't torture like that advertisement made it sound like

2018-11-11 22:34:41 UTC

The middle child in my family is a trap.

2018-11-11 22:34:45 UTC

I'm the youngest, thank god.

2018-11-11 22:34:50 UTC

Geez

2018-11-11 22:34:52 UTC

@ThisIsChris that's hilarious

2018-11-11 22:35:10 UTC

imagine your house just being full of sand one day

2018-11-11 22:35:23 UTC

I’m the only one who didn’t finish college but I’m married with a kid so idgaf

2018-11-11 22:35:25 UTC

Isn't that sad and not funny?

2018-11-11 22:35:41 UTC

@Grossly Incandescent i'm the quintessential middle child

2018-11-11 22:35:50 UTC

Oh do tell

2018-11-11 22:36:05 UTC

my older sibling is off the rails liberal but was steered in by life somewhat

2018-11-11 22:36:38 UTC

my younger sibling is very aloof and, well, spoiled for lack of a better word

2018-11-11 22:36:42 UTC

and i'm just there, in the middle

2018-11-11 22:37:00 UTC

@YourFundamentalTheorum ha that would be weird, but the article talks a bit that it happened over time. There used to be little farms there and for a few years they would just sweep the sand away so their crops could grow, but as you can see in the picture eventually the sand became too much.

2018-11-11 22:37:08 UTC

I’m not too far off that with my family dynamics tbh

2018-11-11 22:37:27 UTC

is that how all families function with 3 children?

2018-11-11 22:37:36 UTC

I wonder if there's any good research on how having siblings affects your development

2018-11-11 22:37:39 UTC

First child master race 😎

2018-11-11 22:37:48 UTC

I found a bunch of articles saying that being an only child doesn't make a difference

2018-11-11 22:37:55 UTC

really sounds like bullshit to me

2018-11-11 22:38:15 UTC

@ThisIsChris it also seems like a village, not a town. Idk who has "high heels" there

2018-11-11 22:38:19 UTC

I don’t think it’s detrimental as long as the parents don’t ruin the only child by spoiling them rotten

2018-11-11 22:38:23 UTC
2018-11-11 22:38:28 UTC

@Grossly Incandescent like in China

2018-11-11 22:38:37 UTC

@Grossly Incandescent I just can't see how it wouldn't affect your social skills, though

2018-11-11 22:38:54 UTC

Especially for me, since literally the only family I grew up around was my parents

2018-11-11 22:39:01 UTC

Well there is no replacement for how you interact and care for a sibling

2018-11-11 22:39:02 UTC

Nationalism is the opposite of treason...
