What is irrelevant...?
tbf, we are kinda retarded. <:KEK:795742276549607456>
You said we have to submit to slavery and have your freedoms taken away
Nvm
No... I didn’t.
“We have no choice left to us but to submit to absolute slavery and despotism"
Again... that quote is for historical purposes, from a pastor during the Revolution. I just like history. I’m not some nut who wants Revolution.
Okay, I suppose that makes sense
Yes... that said from a guy during the British enslavement of the colonies.
Yeah
That's what I said <:KEK:795742276549607456> I literally wrote back "*speak for yourself*"
That wasn't good conduct, brother
But that may be true
These verses are talking about how people in these verses are not treating the Lord Supper with respect. They were treating Supper like a feast. Hence why Paul talks about in verse 29. Anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself. So treat the Lord Supper with respect and humility. Examine yourself before you partake in Supper.
The corinthians church had alot of issues
I did not say I dont want to be convinced period, In context it was you wont convince me that with just words or scripture without modern proof.
Anyone can just say "Oh yeah, this will turn out fine. God is good and will do good." But if you said that in one of the german 'work' camps you would be lying to everyone who died.
I poisonous hope is not better than depressing truth.
Oh, I was talking about myself
Like the kid was like "we'd all be retarded and we're obviously not"
I think that the hope in the Gospel is transcendent of circumstances because it looks towards eternity rather than better life on earth
Definitely. That's all the hope in the Gospel regards, having your life exonerated before from the sins you've committed so you can have a clean slate before God and go to be with Him after you die and not to Hell. Believing the Gospel and being saved does not mean your life before you die will be all fixed. Many times there are more problems because of that than there were before. But, this time though you have God on your side.
The Bible never promises an easy life in this life (i.e. not till we die). you only have to look at what happened to the Apostles, all except John were brutally murdered for their faith.
And it is said that the Apostle John was boiled in oil--so he too suffered greatly.
In which case we may as well die then.
Because if life is just suffering and the penalty of sin is death we may as well just die.
However if you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, you will still die (assuming not the end of time) however after death there will be no pain and suffering for all of eternity and you spend it with the perfect God.
Yes... again, not a lot of reason to live.
if anything more reason to live for as little time as possible
However we do not instantly go to heaven when we accept Him because He still has a purpose for our life on this Earth. We are called to make disciples so other can receive the same good news we have in our hearts. God has a purpose for all of us and can use us in ways we will never fully understand till we get to heaven.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me
We can not save someone but we can still tell them about the Gospile and if they accept Christ lead them in the faith.
You can either choose to begin your life in heaven here on earth now, or you can choose to begin your life in hell here now. Even with the suffering (and no one knows the depths suffering more than Christ) , there is still the goodness of God in all creation if you look for Him.
A painful purpose we didnt really sign up for at birth.
You can thank Adam for that when you@see him
We all made the decision to sin and thus deserve the punishment of hell.
The suffering is a gift as well
"I will not judge the sins of the father on the son."
God teaches us so much through suffering
Yes
We are stained with Original Sin from conception.
