Sex is reserved as a privilege between two people who are married under God. The intimate union physically is supposed to reflect the union of Christ and His Church.

Men and women who are having sex outside of marriage are also committing sin although many do not know it. But homosexual sex also has the added sin of going against the Natural Law.

And the reason is it more systemic is because the Catholic Church is a bigger “system”. Abuse in smaller autonomous churches are covered up by other means.
