It almost seems like they were set up to fail

2021-01-17 19:14:52 UTC

I read this as well.

2021-01-17 19:15:15 UTC

on a day with hundreds of lawmakers and the vice president in one room, you'd figure there would be better security

2021-01-17 19:15:35 UTC

I also have heard both of those causes for his death. He apparently got back up and kept working but died later. The other police officer committed suicide that evening or the next day.

2021-01-17 19:15:39 UTC

Lolwtf? Bludgeoning people to death is murder last I checked.

2021-01-17 19:16:20 UTC

Alot of Capitol police sympathizers of the mob ..

2021-01-17 19:16:26 UTC

I'm not sure if it was set up to fail, but I know that the Governor was asked multiple times if they wanted backup throughout the previous days of this event, and she kept saying no... Why would anyone have said no... they knew tons of people were going to be there... and there's always going to be something with that many people in one place.

2021-01-17 19:16:50 UTC

It's quite a shame... the whole thing....

2021-01-17 19:17:34 UTC

They arrest thousands of liberal protestors that don’t pull any of this shit and y’all flip out when you break into the capital of the nation

2021-01-17 19:17:35 UTC

You'd figure they would have learned that by now after the Kavanaugh hearings when protesters took over the Hart Senate Office building

2021-01-17 19:17:47 UTC

"mostly peaceful"

2021-01-17 19:18:00 UTC

I read that the fire extinguisher situation went like this... not sure if it's true... but I read that someone threw an extinguisher at the cop... did not bludgeon him...

2021-01-17 19:18:20 UTC

They never thought Trump was going to invite them to the Capitol .. but Instead went to his bunker..

2021-01-17 19:18:43 UTC

They literally trampled a woman to death. Succumbing to injuries doesn’t change how to injuries happen

2021-01-17 19:19:01 UTC

They arrest hundreds in completely peaceful protests

2021-01-17 19:19:48 UTC

He said 'succumbing to medical emergencies'... that could literally be anything. I already said that I don't know the details of each death, and I already said it's all terrible.... not sure why there's a debate on this.

2021-01-17 19:19:48 UTC

yeah I'm sure they do. What wouldn't they when there's no provocation.

2021-01-17 19:20:30 UTC

it matters on regards of criminal liability and determining guilt

2021-01-17 19:21:00 UTC

Could the capitol leadership be prosecuted for failure to do their duties??

2021-01-17 19:21:28 UTC

not really, more likely asked to step down,

2021-01-17 19:21:43 UTC

Well yes, I agree with that. I meant I'm not sure what the debate is for Dedkraken and I on this matter.

2021-01-17 19:21:43 UTC

or firmly suggest them to step down.

2021-01-17 19:22:32 UTC

The water poisoning of Flint is being prosecuted

2021-01-17 19:22:51 UTC

6 years too late for that almost

2021-01-17 19:23:08 UTC

About time! Should of happened years ago

2021-01-17 19:23:17 UTC

I think Trump better hope that they find some proof of widespread voter fraud, because I predict that every family is going to include him in their suits. Had he not lied about there being fraud, their loved ones would likely still be alive. I bet there are tens of thousands of lawyers that would take that case on.

2021-01-17 19:23:20 UTC

Yea, that's crazy it took so long.

2021-01-17 19:24:22 UTC

Trumps got lots of problems coming 😂

2021-01-17 19:25:03 UTC

I'd think you have to make a really strong case that him spouting that would make him responsible for what they did after the fact. Especially when many of them acted of their own volition

2021-01-17 19:26:07 UTC

That'd be like trying to convince a judge that some polls work as voter suppression

2021-01-17 19:26:54 UTC

He's the source of the fraud claims... He called those people to DC... Him and his surrogates used provocative speech that reasonable people could interpret as a call to action. I think there is a case to be made and lawyers love to be on TV. All it takes is a sympathetic jury in a civil case.

2021-01-17 19:26:59 UTC

I agree. I was watching live streams as all this happened, and I didn't think he was inciting anything, but people obviously see what he said differently.

2021-01-17 19:27:57 UTC

Trump specifically said they would go to the capitol and be peaceful. Your major news networks won't have told you that, though. They always skip that sentence of the speech.

2021-01-17 19:28:57 UTC

Again, it's a really huge stretch, and then you would have to link his speech to them choosing to storm the capitol

2021-01-17 19:29:27 UTC

Yeah our economy has gone to shit. That’s what happens during a pandemic and lockdowns. Look round the world, we aren’t alone.

2021-01-17 19:29:37 UTC

I know exactly what was said... I still think there is a case that can be made in a civil case and I predict that it will happen.

2021-01-17 19:30:02 UTC

That'd be like someone trying to prosecute Bernie Sanders because of that one guy who used his speech when he chose to shoot GOP congressional reps at that baseball game

2021-01-17 19:30:15 UTC

@Tom(FTP/Dwarves) what is peaceful. Zip ties. Guns. Bombs. Spears. Maze. Bats...militia...and screaming hang mike Pence. Heads on spike..shot them with their guns.

2021-01-17 19:30:26 UTC

I just don't see it holding up to scrutiny,

2021-01-17 19:30:28 UTC

You might also note that Trump was still speaking when the capitol was broken into, so it wasn't the people he was speaking to who did it.
