Ah, the best ones use a helicoil type insert to thread the D ring into
You drill a hole specified by the insert and use a small hammer and an aluminum rod to "press" it in
Much the same way pool anchors go in
A little adhesive helps
I see. I was looking at these originally https://www.amazon.com/YYHJ-Sling-Swivel-Studs-Mounting/dp/B07CCYLXCY/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=rifle+sling+mount&qid=1602212303&sr=8-6
Oh those just go right in. Make a small pilot hole 1/8" about a 1/4" deep and twist it in
Use a little superglue on the threads. It helps keep it from backing out on you
Wood stocks are wonderful to work with. Much better customization than plastic ones.
Ah, thanks for the help. Do you think those would work good or are there any other quality ones?
I'm assuming they'll all be pretty similar
They are all pretty similar. Manufacturing has gone a long way the past 30 years. Pot metal is a thing of the past
@GoCRAZY 700 to 900 for a 5.56 pistol is average. We have 3 in stock priced at 850.
Alrighty. Thanks for the help!
No prob. If you ever find yourself in missouri needing a gunsmith, hit me up.
Machining raw forgings is more tricky than most people think. There are no flat planes of reference so you have to locate the "nub" on the left side where the mag release goes to zero your lower
"Those are actually .223 Remington rounds"
So yeah $850 is still more than $700 for a non fired weapon
60c per round of 5.56 looks like prices are going down. I paid 75c per round a week ago
@HUNTER4639 Thanks, but the funny thing is, I wouldn't even consider myself *that* knowledgeable, lol
Got the sexy beast
Gonna get wood grips and new d spring

Guns, to me, are like hotrodding and machining: I know just enough that I don't know shit
same
So US law dictates that for something to be considered a firearm it has to be designed after 1898 and have a self contained cartridge (Aka. a bullet). So you can own a reproduction model of a blackpowder gun designed before 1898 and it aint considered a firearm legally and Cabellas sells 1858 Remington revolver reproduction for 270 dollars 😄
me who's trying to get a gatling gun: 👀
You can actually buy a gatling gun or make one yourself
its totally legal
since they are hand cranked they are not considered machine guns.

*procedes to make one out of aks like that guy on youtube*
We need to buy a used FTMV and mount a gatling gun to the back and drive through portland and seattle
and to mkae the gun fire quicker mount a bunch of gears to the back of the truck that fires the gun multiple times a rotation
or that may be illegal. I would guess not because it aint illegal to fire a gun with a string and its kinda the same thing.
In case you guys missed it, the ATF issued
a cease and desist to Q for their Honey Badger AR pistol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCpUdKf9TmY
