@Aviate738 you sure those are 5.56 and not .223? I dont see primer crimps

2020-10-09 02:57:11 UTC

I have no mount as of right now which is what I'm trying to figure out. I'm trying to mount to a Ruger 10/22 wood stock. The one that it comes with

2020-10-09 02:57:26 UTC

I was looking on Amazon and they have a few different kinds

2020-10-09 02:58:03 UTC

Ah, the best ones use a helicoil type insert to thread the D ring into

2020-10-09 02:58:57 UTC

You drill a hole specified by the insert and use a small hammer and an aluminum rod to "press" it in

2020-10-09 02:59:19 UTC

Much the same way pool anchors go in

2020-10-09 02:59:42 UTC

A little adhesive helps

2020-10-09 03:00:38 UTC

Oh those just go right in. Make a small pilot hole 1/8" about a 1/4" deep and twist it in

2020-10-09 03:01:09 UTC

Use a little superglue on the threads. It helps keep it from backing out on you

2020-10-09 03:02:03 UTC

Wood stocks are wonderful to work with. Much better customization than plastic ones.

2020-10-09 03:02:34 UTC

Ah, thanks for the help. Do you think those would work good or are there any other quality ones?

2020-10-09 03:02:47 UTC

I'm assuming they'll all be pretty similar

2020-10-09 03:03:25 UTC

They are all pretty similar. Manufacturing has gone a long way the past 30 years. Pot metal is a thing of the past

2020-10-09 03:04:11 UTC

@GoCRAZY 700 to 900 for a 5.56 pistol is average. We have 3 in stock priced at 850.

2020-10-09 03:05:10 UTC

Alrighty. Thanks for the help!

2020-10-09 03:05:48 UTC

Machining raw forgings is more tricky than most people think. There are no flat planes of reference so you have to locate the "nub" on the left side where the mag release goes to zero your lower

2020-10-09 03:35:42 UTC

"Those are actually .223 Remington rounds"

2020-10-09 03:36:04 UTC

@Ironman Yes, they are .223

2020-10-09 03:42:04 UTC

@Ironman its brand new

2020-10-09 03:42:39 UTC

So yeah $850 is still more than $700 for a non fired weapon

2020-10-09 03:48:13 UTC

as long as quality is good its fine

2020-10-09 04:11:52 UTC

60c per round of 5.56 looks like prices are going down. I paid 75c per round a week ago

2020-10-09 04:18:14 UTC

@HUNTER4639 Thanks, but the funny thing is, I wouldn't even consider myself *that* knowledgeable, lol

2020-10-09 04:45:15 UTC

Guns, to me, are like hotrodding and machining: I know just enough that I don't know shit

2020-10-09 05:14:04 UTC

same

2020-10-09 05:28:20 UTC

So US law dictates that for something to be considered a firearm it has to be designed after 1898 and have a self contained cartridge (Aka. a bullet). So you can own a reproduction model of a blackpowder gun designed before 1898 and it aint considered a firearm legally and Cabellas sells 1858 Remington revolver reproduction for 270 dollars 😄

2020-10-09 05:29:21 UTC

me who's trying to get a gatling gun: 👀

2020-10-09 05:30:36 UTC

You can actually buy a gatling gun or make one yourself

2020-10-09 05:30:41 UTC

its totally legal

2020-10-09 05:30:54 UTC

since they are hand cranked they are not considered machine guns.

2020-10-09 05:33:53 UTC

<:thinking:726878987837636698>

2020-10-09 05:35:14 UTC

*procedes to make one out of aks like that guy on youtube*

2020-10-09 05:37:14 UTC

We need to buy a used FTMV and mount a gatling gun to the back and drive through portland and seattle

2020-10-09 05:40:56 UTC

and to mkae the gun fire quicker mount a bunch of gears to the back of the truck that fires the gun multiple times a rotation
