M21 is rebuilt internally, now it just needs a Hurst shifter. Should be a stout little 4 speed that with silky smooth, but well-defined shifts once its built

Finally, another AK fanboy

Ya'll are hard to come by

Lookin to get myself a countertop gravity-fed water filtration system. Anyone got suggestions?

I like ARs, too

I just have a thing for crude simplicity

If SHTF hit tomorrow, I'd have zero qualms about picking up my Russian Saiga

1969 corvette coupe

Here's my really big project

Much appreciated. Even in this decrepit state, people seem to love it

End goal is something like this, albeit with different wheels

I want to do 1970 Laguna grey, and a more traditional style Torq Thrust VN409 type of mag wheel

15x10 offset so I can run a 295/50/15 on all four

Fat fuckers on all four wheels

This thing isn't geared for fast acceleration off the line but with the M21 in it, should be able to get into the 50 mph range in first gear

I get that a lot, so I find humor in it

I'm kinda old school, I want something as simplistic and mechanical as possible, but I also like to be able to actually get parts for it

Only thing exotic in this thing is the ignition system

That's late 40s/ early 50s styling for sure

Has that post-war curvature, starting to get into the jet age style

You guys know that when the small block chevy first came out in 1955, it didn't have an oil filter boss cast into the block?

They just didn't cast one in lol

Then in '56 they added one

I'd raise a cup of tea in your name if I had one close

Actually I got a better idea

Proly cant post that pic in here actually

They're gonna have to wear welding gloves if they want to take my guns from me

The communists might burn their hands if they don't

Closest they can get to someone who knows how to do that is Camel Toe Harris

If you ever move out here, we'd be lucky to have ya

Probably going to buy either an Aquacera pioneer or an Alexapure Pro system

Anyone looking to get a rifle chambered in an intermediate cartridge, I highly recommend a Saiga in either 5.45 or 7.62x39

About damn time my Hurst shifter ships out

Need to get the muncie back in my car, along with this new clutch kit and flywheel

I'm keepin my shit 1969

A part of me wants a side by side for the nostalgia kind of cool

Still need a flashlight

That's a Saiga

Why don't you do a proper conversion on it though?

They're pre-cut for it

There's a plate on the bottom of the receiver where the trigger is, it's held in by two rivets. Machine those out with a flat endmill or spot drill and drill em out

922r conversion wouldn't be treated like that

The trick there is using enough American made parts

That's a good deal. Those rifles are hard to come by and they're of very good quality

Here's the first of a series of videos, this guy converts his saiga

They're kind of long, so if you have questions, ping me and I'll try to help you

Allows you to use true AK furniture and magazines

Side by side comparison

One on the bottom is how they're imported

Do you have a drill press?

There's a part you can buy that's called a bullet guide

You drill into the trunnion and tap it with a 6-32 tap, screw in the guide

All you need to run real AK mags

I'll get you a link

And like I said, feel free to ping me if you ever have any questions. I have one of these rifles, too, so I've had to research this stuff

I have that exact light on my saiga

If you have a shop, doing a 6-32 tap should be a walk in the park for ya

If it works, thats all that matters

I feel like I've seen that

Not sure of the make and model, but it looks like some kinda 12 gauge

Feelings, while we're talkin about AKs

Theres a company called Weapontech

They make bolt hold open followers for AK mags

What about that the G11 is banned in Canada?

Now when you say bullpup, do you mean bullpup, or what Grandmaster Jackass thinks is a bullpup? Lol

The NFAC guy

Brb lemme dig up the video so ya'll find out

Thats not even Joe's worst

"Gat dayum, just point yer double barrel into the air and fire two blasts, boy, that'll scare em off"

What the fuck is it, 1890? Lol

Oh yeah, same here

For being 120 pounds, I'm a total recoil junkie

Full power 12 gauge deer slugs have been my personal favorite so far

I miss shooting pistols, though

I need to build up strength in my wrists again. I injured them doing repetitive shit at work

.50 AE is not the same as .50 BMG

Hey man, we all gotta start somewhere

Always learnin new shit

I know just enough that I don't know shit

Was my 18th birthday present to myself

The problem with the Saigas as far as handguards go is that they lack front retainers

You have to have those installed, I believe

But if you want a full length rail, the stock system is actually awesome

That website I linked you, that sells the bullet guides? They stock the same handguard that I have

It's a pretty nice piece, but it's machined aluminum. If you got a lathe, a bridgeport and an indexing head, you could make your own fairly easily

When I bought mine, which was like 4 or 5 years ago, I think it was like 150 bucks

120 actually, but out of stock right now

AR10s are tricky because they lack standardization
