To be honest I think the visceral negative reactions to studying popular culture in colleges is unfounded

People always freak out "omg they're teaching a class on Harry Potter" or "they're writting an essay on memes", but, whether you like it or not, these are real parts of the culture today

Well, we are based. So we can see it for the filth it is. But some 12 year old on snapchat seeing what they push does not have the same poz resistance.

There wouldn't be anything wrong with these classes if you took out the leftist brainwashing

But in a hypothetical "based" society, there would be nothing wrong with having cultural studies classes

Even in my cultural studies class, if you ignore the parts where they try to push leftist ideology on you, there was plenty of perfectly valid content in the class

There's nothing inherently wrong with social sciences
