Basically the same in Polish culture
Christmas Eve = Presents and special dinner and stuff
Christmas = Church stuff

Except in Russia they moved them even further apart and made New Year's into the fun holiday and Christmas into church stuff

Apparently the presents on Christmas Eve thing has to do with Catholicism

Yule is just mainly celebrated on the 21.

Saturnalia is celebrated from the 17th to the 22.

You're supposed to go to midnight mass too but I'm not sure how many people actually do that

We have gone to Christmas Eve recently but did Christmas morning when I was a kid

My family has gotten progressively less religious as I've gotten older

One year I went to Christmas mass with my friends' family at their Pentacostal church

it was cool because everyone was white

We used to open one present on Christmas Eve with my Italian cousins so that makes sense with the whole catholic thing
