Let's say you see two dogs fighting on the street. Do you:
1. Intervene to help the weaker dog thus making yourself the master of both dogs
2. Approve of the stronger dog by not intervening.
I argue the morality of nature suggests the right answer is usually 2. And yet this is no way absolves you of the right to self defense. Approving of the stronger third party does not abdicate your self preservation interest.
