@Salo Saloson very measured and reasonable
This spectrum I’m imagining is pretty wide
Pewds does what he's gotta do in his position. I think not unequivocally bowing to the system is pretty good for someone so high profile. I love that lyric in his T-Series diss video: "I'm a blue-eyes white dragon, while you're just dark magician, oof"
I can’t imagine he goes to japan, reads a nationalist’s books, and wonders why it’s a nice place
He probably goes there, gets stared at a bunch and wonders, "why do they look at me so weird?"
"Is it because I'm the world's most famous youtuber?"
If you go to Japan, get stared at, and don't immediately realize it's because you are not Japanese, you are not very observant.
I think "not very observant" is a good descriptor for a lot of people
My Dad dated a Japanese woman when he was stationed there. She would question why he was with her when he could get a woman with blue eyes and the like. They kinda worship the European phenotype.
I am 6'9" and didn't feel stared at in Osaka, Kyoto or even Kanazawa.
@Wood-Ape - OK/MN well they were scared of you duh lol
I had to get real rural for a reaction
Wood, that's because they thought you were a fuckin' giant (you are)
Big if true
Bruh I think you were taller than a good 99% of the native population
taller than 99% of people in general
Their anime looks like us
The Asians that did freak out (I guess Japanese are too polite) were South Asians living in Japan. Several Thais, Phillipinos, Viets and Laos approached me.
Did they think you were someone famous?
@Salo Saloson No I was clearly a lost dork
I'm going to Asia this summer for a few weeks
What part?
Where to Lawrence
Nepal
Climbing Everest?
No, I wish, its for ROTC. I'm spending 3 weeks with the Nepalese Military
Oh dude thats pretty cool
Dude jealous
Always wanted to go to Nepal
I had a Nepali co-worker in Japan (they are so desperate for English speakers they hire Nepali). She was the first person I ever heard proudly tell people she avoided dating non-Nepali because she wanted to carry on their bloodline / legacy. And no one called her racist.
You’ll have to post a lot of pics
I keep seeing adverts for English teachers in places like Japan or Korea
and... I would be so godamn nervous about doing that
I don't know exactly what I'll be doing there yet, but my buddy went last year for the same reason and they spent a week in Kathmandu, a week at the Military Academy there, and a week building mud huts in some village.
how much work is involved in building mud huts?
step 1: get mud
step 2: make it sorta brick shaped
step 3: build hut
rinse, repeat
It should be interesting
Physical labor but uh. Not mentally taxing yeah.
The roads over there are spooky
@Salo Saloson you could also do a mud hut with wattle at the structural element and mud smeared on
