This video goes into the blank slate theory from the enlightenment and I think it is really good. It is condensed in a way that is quite easy to grasp as well. The concept itself came from Locke.
i am at about 8 minutes in and so far my thoughts are, for one my earlier talk abotu a blank slate is referring to good and evil moreso than learning and experiences. I wold say itneresting how the videomaker relies on evolution theory a lot and even calls humans as animals kind reinforces my point; that is to say that people are arguably born blank in terms of good and evil (i would even argue they are born good if forced to choose between the two), but that the more they are tainted by the world the more evil they become. Still interesting video so far, and am resuming play now
Well you know JLP refers to the Fallen State of man. The natural inclination for man to be fallen. If I were forced to pick I would say that humans need to be taught for the most part to follow God, without the instruction they are in the Fallen State. Especially considering that I believe that my God is truly the only God. All other religions but mine are indeed false.
and by that I mean Christianity
well the Fallen State is the kingdom of evil, the kingdom of the world. This is to me just more to the point that people are born either blank in terms of good and evil, or are even arguably born good (as God when he first made Man pronounced him good), but then the more they are influenced by the world and become earthy, the more evil they will become since the earth is in opposition to the divine
Hmm interesting which is inevitable because they must experience the world in some way right.
Unless they are a miscarriage or something like that.
i notice now that the video is over, that the videomaker is very worldly in his outlook, he is essentially arguing that man is innately a beast, an animal, a creture of the earth and that his goal is essentially similar to the leftwing ideologues, that is they both desire via struggle against God to make the earth into what they conceptualize a utopia to be
but this can simply never be because the earth is evil and God will ultimately destroy the earth
Well its a video on the blank slate, not a video on his religious position.
So I think perhaps that is why it seems so worldly to you because he is specifically covering a worldly concept.
yea he is looking at it more in terms of politics
yet ironically his ideology is also leftwing and is not rightwing, because it's essentially the classic argument of the Struggle against God and trying to forge a utopic earth
very itneresting though for sure
