They didn't know what to do until they were afraid of the white army on their border if the white army got a hold of Nicholas.

2020-11-27 22:34:39 UTC

Or any surviving kin.

2020-11-27 22:34:53 UTC

Yup. Can't reinstall dead people.

2020-11-27 22:35:34 UTC

the children did nothing

2020-11-27 22:35:52 UTC

They didn't, but you have to understand this is Tsarist Russia.

2020-11-27 22:35:55 UTC

also nicholas was far removed from the public

2020-11-27 22:36:10 UTC

The children were potentially going to be accepted as the next rulers by the public.

2020-11-27 22:36:13 UTC

he probably barely knew of any suffering of the people

2020-11-27 22:36:13 UTC

@meglide That's why I have a disdain for accounting and finance. They can fudge numbers to look good or bad to serve whatever purpose they require.

2020-11-27 22:42:59 UTC

Blows my mind any time they let them live. Napoleon got exiled, came back and just got another exile ride. I see a trend, guys. Maybe not a good idea.

2020-11-27 22:47:25 UTC

Well to be fair to Clinton that one year he did get very close to balancing the budget. Accounting and finance figures out how to cut me a paycheck each month. That makes it kind of hard for me to have disdain for them.

2020-11-27 22:52:48 UTC

I admit that's too strong a word. I have other personal reasons, but not relevant. I may have been looking at budgets, which is way different from actual. I usually double check things like that before posting. Lesson learned. My point was that as a former governor and having down an adequate job on the economy, he did pretty well. Of course, he may have a hand in the policies that led to the 2008 crash. Now that I think of it... forget I said anything.

2020-11-27 23:03:44 UTC

you will always be able to find some policy from a previous administration to blame your failures on, or dismiss and take credit for

2020-11-27 23:03:52 UTC

its nothing new in politics

2020-11-27 23:19:11 UTC

I read the opening paragraph on this story and it caught me by surprise. My son had told me earlier that this was trending, but still... https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/nov/27/mini-desk-trump-mocked-speech-little-table-diaperdon-twitter-president-furniture

2020-11-27 23:26:45 UTC

It's twitter, what did you expect? Haha!

2020-11-27 23:27:43 UTC

#murdererinchief also tends sometimes.

2020-11-27 23:42:12 UTC

I know... but did you see the leprechaun desk dig? @Maw

2020-11-27 23:42:21 UTC

okay, but demographics is what helped Clinton in regards to the budget. He was president when the baby boomers reached the height of their working years just before they started to retire. So lots of money going in, not much money taking out. The budget surplus was really the social security fund excess revenue covering the difference (I think)

2020-11-27 23:46:08 UTC

I believe it was Y2K... All of these businesses with legacy systems were compelled to either patch their existing systems or replace them. When most did the cost benefit analysis, they found that patching was about 60% the cost of replacing. When one company in an industry/segment decided to upgrade, the rest followed suit to ensure no one got a competitive advantage. So many companies investing in their technical infrastructures at the same time was unprecedented. Clinton had the good sense to not screw it up and rode the wave.

@RobertGrulerEsq You should consider starting the stream a few minutes early with a generic slide or a countdown to start just to make sure everything is up and running.

2020-11-27 23:48:59 UTC

Instead of me bumbling around for 20 seconds ๐Ÿ˜›

2020-11-27 23:50:18 UTC

Also so I don't have to keep refreshing. Is it up yet? Is it up yet?

2020-11-27 23:50:46 UTC

I thought that *was* the intro.

2020-11-27 23:52:05 UTC

Oh yea, that's a great point.

2020-11-27 23:52:44 UTC

I think I didn't do that because the thumbnail was ugly with the timer, but maybe that was because I didn't already have a thumbnail uploaded. It's a good idea I'll look at it.

2020-11-28 00:00:35 UTC

Mr Gruler you were 20 seconds late

2020-11-28 00:05:43 UTC

hello

2020-11-28 00:20:01 UTC

agreed with Robert that the Venezuelan link alone would NOT make a case

2020-11-28 00:22:29 UTC

hey

2020-11-28 01:11:38 UTC

I think the bumbling is kind of relatable....It made me see you as a "real person" and more accessible from the getgo.

2020-11-28 01:45:36 UTC

โ€‹so when the GA sec of state settled the lawsuit wasn't that under the review of a court? so if there was legal problem shouldn't have caught it?

2020-11-28 01:48:04 UTC

I'm trying to find that settlement right now BTW

2020-11-28 01:48:08 UTC

@RobertGrulerEsq @FaithJoy Quite a lot to cover, was that a wild one! Very, very active chat tonight. (Slow mode was off haha!) Awesome stream as always and glad to be a part of this community. Have a great weekend you two. ๐Ÿ‘
