Given the constraints of infrequent use and not being connected to the Internet, I am fairly certain that all voting systems are going to be behind on security patches for their equipment. I can't imagine any of them having a proprietary OS - maybe an embedded LINUX OS for voting machines, but not likely. Depends on the car. And valve cover gasket changes are pretty cheap. especially if you do it yourself. I used to work in an auto-shop.
