The thing about Polish patriotism, is that a lot of people are into it purely for aesthetic reasons. They don't necessarily care about the future of their country, they just like the way the flags and eagles and stuff look. Because, let's be honest, it's pretty cool looking.

It's really bizarre. I'm genuinely nationalistic, but I try to blend in. It's easy to be diluded until you see cultural enrichment first hand. The extremely religious "Christian" African Nations practice basically heathenism. That alone should be enough to deter Christians and Catholics from ethnic and cultural dilution, but people are quick to forget such things unless they constantly are reminded of it.

Of all things the removal of monuments makes me the saddest.

Monuments to wars and the dead should remain regardless of the side they fought, there is honor in any warrior and desecrating graves and monuments is one of the most terrible you can do morally, I personally think.
