i'll leave that up to your state coordinator @Jacob i know nothing about those areas or even your state lol

2019-01-21 06:40:46 UTC

fair enough

2019-01-21 06:41:05 UTC

>tfw I *am* the assistant coordinator for Eastern Washington 😳

2019-01-21 06:41:25 UTC

oh snap

2019-01-21 06:41:46 UTC

well it's definitely a discussion for the activism server on slack

2019-01-21 06:41:48 UTC

@Jacob "Its lonely at the top time"....command decisions are the worst.

2019-01-21 06:42:40 UTC

I'm not a blue name, because I'm still under command of the Washington coordinator, but it's basically my job to plan stuff here since Niko has enough to deal with in Western Washington

2019-01-21 06:43:16 UTC

It's kinda like how in the Soviet Union there was SSRs and ASSRs

2019-01-21 06:43:25 UTC

Eastern Washington is an ASSR

2019-01-21 06:44:33 UTC

we're not as dense down here except for florida and georgia

2019-01-21 06:44:48 UTC

I'm uncomfortable with any comparison of us to the pinkos but I understand what you mean.

2019-01-21 06:45:18 UTC

Alright, show of hands: how many IE members were former communists?
(I'll raise my hand)

2019-01-21 06:45:19 UTC

wtf pinkos?

2019-01-21 06:45:21 UTC

I know more about Eastern European history than any other so I use it for all my analogies

2019-01-21 06:46:09 UTC

Former communists, really? I have a whole series of questions now @Salo Saloson

2019-01-21 06:46:21 UTC

getting a tad late over here for European history

2019-01-21 06:46:28 UTC

@Salo Saloson A good amount

2019-01-21 06:46:35 UTC

night everyone

2019-01-21 06:46:40 UTC

Pinkos- an old cold-war HUAC term for communists.

2019-01-21 06:46:42 UTC

not me personally, but I've heard of a few

2019-01-21 06:46:47 UTC

@Goose good night

2019-01-21 06:47:26 UTC

@Goose buona notte

2019-01-21 06:47:30 UTC

I'll skip the long personal history lesson for ya Johnny and leave it at this: I got into, and out of, Communism because of arguments about internationalism and labor

2019-01-21 06:47:47 UTC

Haha even NBCS’ video got heavily downvoted.

2019-01-21 06:48:39 UTC

@Johnny B. Populus I can answer your questions since I know members like this

Generally the more interested in politics someone is, the more far left/right they are. One thing we have on common is that we both see that there's *something* wrong with the status quo.

2019-01-21 06:48:39 UTC

@Salo Saloson Gotcha, well I'm glad you're here now at any rate.

2019-01-21 06:48:43 UTC

@Salo Saloson you were a commie?

2019-01-21 06:48:59 UTC

it's not that rare lol

2019-01-21 06:49:19 UTC

I _was_ but never heavily interested in "muh international working class"

2019-01-21 06:49:48 UTC

Haha I am the working class I get it.

2019-01-21 06:49:54 UTC

also the _suspicious_ absence of all commies from anything like physical work is a bit hard to ignore

2019-01-21 06:50:15 UTC

@Salo Saloson no they are present.

2019-01-21 06:50:16 UTC

Generally, political moderates are people who know nothing about politics, so they just say "eh, the status quo is fine"

2019-01-21 06:50:53 UTC

The only serious people are either far left or far right

2019-01-21 06:50:54 UTC

@Jacob I suppose not, I just never met a Comm-vert. (I mean that amicably & not as a personal jibe to any former Marxists)

2019-01-21 06:50:55 UTC

well sure, but the overwhelming number of Reds I met and ran into weren't interested in factory conditions, labor rights/labor laws, or really anything blue-collar oriented

2019-01-21 06:51:54 UTC

@Salo Saloson they are a minority but they are very well represented. I am a union memeber.

2019-01-21 06:52:31 UTC

Also, I don't think we should ever stigmatize an entire political ideology

We should examine all ideologies and take the best parts

2019-01-21 06:52:38 UTC

I actually suggested we be run like a union

2019-01-21 06:52:49 UTC

All these pipelines to the dissident right need to be widened

2019-01-21 06:52:50 UTC

of that I have no doubt, it's just hard to take Comrade Comradovski seriously when he's never _been_ in a factory, much less seen one
