Didn’t know british ppl had lips that big
Big homie @Nemets had some chart that indicated the real support for what TPUSA cons advocate for.
I would say there needs to be some level of temperament on the dissident right to not just throw out the rest of conservative policy totally just because neocons are gay.
I'd have to dig, and I'm in a car RN...
Conservatism is such a joke
@nord Oh, without a doubt.
"conserve"autism
I’d have skipped the entirety of my lib phase if I was old enough to realize “just because conservatism sucks it doesn’t mean liberalism is better”
Was literally 14
I'd rather turn the GOP into Trumpism or, better TUCKERISM, than destroy it
My dad does this really dumb thing when he argues with me where he claims I said something that I never said. I'm not sure why he does it, like, it would more sense if he was doing it behind my back, but he does it right to my face.
One of the things he constantly says is "You say you want to be conservative, but..."
And I'm like, "uh... I pretty clearly specified that that's *not* what I want to be"
can someone explain to me the logic behind this?
I think we are working with different definitions of what we mean by conservatism vs the GOP party line vs paleocon etc etc. I suppose it's all a bit confused these days.
I honestly don't get it
Just a strawman dude
Definitions are purposely subverted for a reason.
Define "define"
A really funny one was when I was younger, at an age when I never would have called myself a nationalist, he was like "you say you're a nationalist, but..."
I was really confused because I literally never would have said that back then
If you can muddle the victory conditions of an argument enough to where no one will cede people just “stop arguing” because they get bored
"you can't be a TRUE conservative/liberal if you don't hold these two contradictory positions, unflinchingly and to the death"
“Ok”
Sorry if I'm just posting too much of this at this point but it's funny.
BASED
This is another one he did, which I actually thought was pretty clever. He was arguing with me about something and he was like "you say family is important, but... " My natural instinct was to say "I didn't say that". Not that I was arguing that it's *un*important, it's just that... I didn't say that. This gave him an excuse to freak out and be like "so you're saying it's not important?!?!?!"
tpuk is struggling to find white people to quote I guess
His argument tactics are so Talmudic lmao
@Jacob Collectivism and socialism aren't bad, as long as it's not Marxism
NeoCons, Dubya, and Israel-Firsters not only soured me on the right wing for fifteen years it also contributed to my early/mid 2000s fedora atheist phase.
@ophiuchus Shouldn't a strawman actually be kind of hard to detect, though? He literally makes up quotes by me and tells me that I said them. What exactly does that accomplish when I can just say I didn't say that?
A strawman is just framing the argument as something it isn’t, that thing it isn’t being easier to topple
ya but I mean strawmen should be convincing
Eh
It’s like
Now I realize that I didn't hate God, or my nation. I hated people using both for their own interests against our own.
A logical integral transform
my dad would actually make a really good shitposter
I should make him a Twitter account and follow a bunch of irony bros
Your dad should go on chapo
he should debate Richard Spencer
"Mr Spencer, you say you're a conservative, but..."
Jacob's dad debates RS on Chapo
