Sami lol, reindeer
I think we should change the topic now
Reindeer!
Sportsball?
Reindeer polo
To respond to the topic from earlier, I don't think we should be too hard on people who went to college and did a dumb major
Most of them made that decision at a very young age, often under pressure by parents and school counselors
It's very difficult to say "no" at that age
Same reason we have age of consent laws
We should bring back the ancient practice of reindeer domestication

I bet reindeer are delicious
Can confirm
In Juneau & Anchorage there are reindeer and/or caribou braut stands
What is reindeer meat like?
Sure, by the time they take out the loan, they're over the age of 18 (I think that's how it works)
But the thing is, the process is already set in motion when they're kids. They've already been preparing for their specific major and taking classes for that and they kind of face a dilemma. Either take out a loan, or have all those preparations go to waste.
A lot like elk. Fattier than deer but less fatty than beef
Similar to bison?
I am sure the brauts had bacon fat in them
I haven't had elm
In my personal case, I actually started college when I was 16. In hindsight, it wasn't a good decision, because I effectively had to prepare for college and plan out my life when I was like 14.
Now I'm facing the consequences of decisions made by teenage me and it's pretty stressful<:nervous:359009898115104770>
@Josh M. -OH Hard for me to say. All the bison I've had was steak or burger, but all of the caribou & reindeer I have had is sausage or in a chili
Sausage is cheating. Like deer sausage.
I've only had deer jerky my buddy made himself, damn good though, wonder what like a deer burger/steak is like
You can get elk burger out west easily enough
@Jacob I agree we shouldn't force people to pay for mistakes they made when they were 16 under pressure, for the rest of their lives.
I'm not a big fan of deer
When I was 18 I graduated with an associate's degree and Java developer certificate. At first it might seem like I set myself for life by doing this, but this is actually how I fucked myself over.
@Josh M. -OH needs added fat for sure
@fgtveassassin Pretty good actually, it looks like beef but tastes a lot more tangy.
Add some cajun seasoning and Worcestershire sauce and deer burgers are amazing.
@Wood-Ape - OK/MN see that's why I'm thinking domestication. Fatten those suckers up
Seems counterintuitive, but it makes sense when you think about it. When I started real university, all of the classes that students usually take as fillers to get in the hang of university were already done. So I essentially had to go head first into stuff like engineering physics.
Moral of the story is that a lot of the things that sound like a really great idea when you're 14 and don't know anything turn out to be a pretty bad idea when you're 21 and have to deal with the consequences of your decisions
@Josh M. -OH the Sami / Lapps have been at it for a while. Problem is they burn through fat keeping alive all winter. imported corn could fatten them
The fat is the best part. Most of the flavor lives there
Even lean beef sucks
Agreed. It is a cold weather herbivore though so the metabolic issues are complicated
You could bring them south but they'd overheat
Ha. Asshole reindeer
Farthest south Caribou are in mountains of Idaho and swamps of western Ontario, but they are dwindling
