What is reindeer meat like?

2019-02-05 15:59:34 UTC

Sure, by the time they take out the loan, they're over the age of 18 (I think that's how it works)

But the thing is, the process is already set in motion when they're kids. They've already been preparing for their specific major and taking classes for that and they kind of face a dilemma. Either take out a loan, or have all those preparations go to waste.

A lot like elk. Fattier than deer but less fatty than beef

2019-02-05 16:00:13 UTC

Similar to bison?

2019-02-05 16:00:14 UTC

I am sure the brauts had bacon fat in them

2019-02-05 16:00:21 UTC

I haven't had elm

2019-02-05 16:00:29 UTC

In my personal case, I actually started college when I was 16. In hindsight, it wasn't a good decision, because I effectively had to prepare for college and plan out my life when I was like 14.

2019-02-05 16:01:05 UTC

Now I'm facing the consequences of decisions made by teenage me and it's pretty stressful<:nervous:359009898115104770>

2019-02-05 16:01:56 UTC

@Josh M. -OH Hard for me to say. All the bison I've had was steak or burger, but all of the caribou & reindeer I have had is sausage or in a chili

2019-02-05 16:02:27 UTC

Sausage is cheating. Like deer sausage.

2019-02-05 16:02:39 UTC

I've only had deer jerky my buddy made himself, damn good though, wonder what like a deer burger/steak is like

2019-02-05 16:03:00 UTC

You can get elk burger out west easily enough

2019-02-05 16:03:03 UTC

@Jacob I agree we shouldn't force people to pay for mistakes they made when they were 16 under pressure, for the rest of their lives.

2019-02-05 16:03:04 UTC

I'm not a big fan of deer

2019-02-05 16:03:28 UTC

When I was 18 I graduated with an associate's degree and Java developer certificate. At first it might seem like I set myself for life by doing this, but this is actually how I fucked myself over.

2019-02-05 16:03:41 UTC

@Josh M. -OH needs added fat for sure

2019-02-05 16:04:36 UTC

@fgtveassassin Pretty good actually, it looks like beef but tastes a lot more tangy.

Add some cajun seasoning and Worcestershire sauce and deer burgers are amazing.

2019-02-05 16:04:39 UTC

@Wood-Ape - OK/MN see that's why I'm thinking domestication. Fatten those suckers up

2019-02-05 16:04:47 UTC

Seems counterintuitive, but it makes sense when you think about it. When I started real university, all of the classes that students usually take as fillers to get in the hang of university were already done. So I essentially had to go head first into stuff like engineering physics.

2019-02-05 16:06:00 UTC

Moral of the story is that a lot of the things that sound like a really great idea when you're 14 and don't know anything turn out to be a pretty bad idea when you're 21 and have to deal with the consequences of your decisions

2019-02-05 16:06:06 UTC

@Josh M. -OH the Sami / Lapps have been at it for a while. Problem is they burn through fat keeping alive all winter. imported corn could fatten them

2019-02-05 16:07:03 UTC

The fat is the best part. Most of the flavor lives there

2019-02-05 16:07:20 UTC

Even lean beef sucks

2019-02-05 16:07:43 UTC

Agreed. It is a cold weather herbivore though so the metabolic issues are complicated

2019-02-05 16:07:55 UTC

You could bring them south but they'd overheat

2019-02-05 16:08:30 UTC

Ha. Asshole reindeer

2019-02-05 16:08:35 UTC

Farthest south Caribou are in mountains of Idaho and swamps of western Ontario, but they are dwindling

2019-02-05 16:08:54 UTC

high fat diets are based and redpilled as well

2019-02-05 16:09:05 UTC

people think that fat makes you fat just because of the name

2019-02-05 16:09:18 UTC

literally just "it sounds scary"

2019-02-05 16:09:32 UTC

Thank the diet jew for those lies

2019-02-05 16:09:42 UTC

White tail and Mule deer are suited for warm weather. I guess you could start selectively breeding them for fat gain capacity

2019-02-05 16:10:37 UTC

We need more animals with ribeye meat

I want delicious ribeye steaks from all of the hoofers

2019-02-05 16:11:28 UTC

In awe of the size of that lad

2019-02-05 16:11:44 UTC

Hefty boy

2019-02-05 16:11:58 UTC

Absolute ruminant unit

2019-02-05 16:15:46 UTC

@Wood-Ape - OK/MN Might have to pay double to get the meat processed on that huuuuuge buck.

2019-02-05 16:22:52 UTC

This seems so stupid that it has to be a scam
