@VinceChaos It's a poor choice, but they're free to make it. Hopefully we will build a world where most people won't want to make that choice. I don't wish ill on those that do, as long as they leave me alone and don't try to destroy my life or community for not wanting to make that choice. That's probably the healthiest overall way to look at it without making yourself go nuts over other people's choices or looking like a control freak etc

One of my best friends from middle school was half-white/half-Japanese. He was definitely not considered white by the majority of people around him and his mother’s family didn’t think of him as Japanese either. Has to be really existentially alienating.
