There are therapists who intentionally- and unethically- push a liberal agenda, and others who just assume "everyone" sees diversity as our strength. I've got to hope there are at least a few like me out there who are advocates for white wellbeing- perhaps those who came to our views after their training and remained in the field.

@Bjorn - MD excellent insight. I do get the sense that mothers of mixed race children view themselves as special-by-proxy. I work with a blonde woman who married and bred with a pakistani man and I overhear her boast about this almost daily- finding ways to slip her status of 'mom to a brown child' into unrelated conversation.

This lady is so lost, it's sad. I get the impression the mixed child is her 'accessory'... in the way a woman would proudly display a new designer handbag and expect others to gush. 😪

Kids understand who they are- culturally, racially- much, much earlier than I would have guessed before becoming a mother.
