Like I originally stated in March: Covid-19 is a blown kiss in a boxing match for humanity, much like influenza has been for decades. The data supports this claim. It is not going away, it will be part of the human experience, just like influenza. I'm happy to hear of progress in developing the vaccine. People will have access to a defense against this virus soon, if they so choose to take it. I would suggest that anyone who is at risk of serious harm or death from viruses be vaccinated against them. Vaccines serve a valuable purpose. The measles vaccine literally protects children from potential brain damage.
Have you noticed that the fad of this hysteria and panic has fizzled away? I blame the 3.4% death rate warning from the WHO for much of this global panic. A complete and utter failure. I am no mathematician, but my probabalistic equations proved to be superior to the WHO math.
Then we have the assumption that human beings CAN be successful in social distancing... A social ape, social distancing... You need only go to your local grocery store to see that they are not, even when they think they are.
I hope we learn valuable lessons from this trial and error approach to governing citizens safety.
I tested negative for covid today š not that anyone should care. Haha
I had it never felt sick
Having a strong immune system helps you a lot. Lowering your sugar intake + Vitamine D + Zinc + Vitamine C + Resveratrol greatly improves your Immunity (7-12 times over the average in response to combatting previously unknown pathogens)
Wars are always easier to start than they are to stop. If a vaccine is not developed, we will be wearing masks for the next 5 years.
@Yussuki āŖ what about drinking bleach ? š
Stop wearing the mask. Record people saying they lie about their travels. Expose the sham that this is
Anyone who still believes the hoax that Trump said anyone should inject or ingest bleach is either lazy or ideologically possessed
Drinking bleach is stupid. Virus cant survive in the gut anyway :)) But many ppl do it , Stone.
Your views on the Woodward tapes @JPMcGlone
Preface: Iām from NY and understand Trumpās choices in language differently than many of my peers.
I think Trump understands he cannot predict the future. He followed the advice of āthe expertsā and lead from a position that was meant to limit panic.
He definitely downplayed the potential worst case scenario. He also up played the potential best case scenario.
I believe in a democratic REPUBLIC and know that trump isnāt responsible for me. Heās one of the last people in this country who is responsible for me, so his opinions or advice donāt really make a difference to me.
I remember when he was shutting down flights from China and NY Democrats were saying āgo to the Chinese fair! Donāt pay attention to your racist presidentā
I agreed. If you wanted to go to the fair, go. If you didnāt, donāt.
Boy how the Democrats flipped from individual liberty to āTrump is in charge of us allā so quickly š
What do you think the head of the state is responsible for? If not for the people?
And also - you donāt see anything wrong with lying? Or misrepresentation at the lowest?
Preface: I donāt have skin in this game; asking questions only.
Least* not lowest
To protect the nation by protecting the land and setting the general framework for prosperity to happen.
What constitutes a nation? Protecting the land for whom? Prosperity of whom?
š
I'm so sorry that I missed this conversation.
Itās never too late
Hereās a covid story. We have a study hall period at my school. I asked my supervisor, who is the schoolās biology teacher, if a friend and I could work together at a large table opposite each other. She put her hand on her head in frustration, āIāve been having to shut off my scientific brain and turn on my robot brain,ā she said, āthe administration says no, and you have to sit outside if you want, but you have to sit next to each other and not facing.ā I responded, āall of the masks and the distancing and the one way hallways are religious ritual to an invisible god, isnāt it.ā āIt sure is,ā she said.
Went over my head. Are you saying masks donāt reduce the likelihood of the spread of the virus?
I would be bad if I'd say: "Yes, masks reduce the likelihood" because we have no study. I would also be bad if I'd say: "No, masks don't reduce the likelihood" because still we have no study. I don't know if we can have a comprehensive study to ask this question and on which we could all agree. I think most people go by the logic that: "Having a mask is better than no mask in fighting the virus." - Argument being that: "Having something is better than nothing." I can also understand that logic. But can other people also understand that there might be diminishing returns in the Grand Scheme of Things on obliging people to wear masks ? It seems to be a trade-off. Is it worth it? I'd pose the following question: "Let's assume wearing masks is a tradeoff. Let's assume also that wearing masks is a a negative trade-off on the long run and we are all aware of it. Than: How can we diminish the negative trade-offs in the future and still be wearing masks?" **** ======= ****So from what she was saying, you and your friend can stay "back to back" or "side to side" or "ear to ear in a straight line" š @ Zurich That's a good one :)))
Hmm - this is quite painful. Masks donāt reduce likelihood of virus transfer. I guess nothing is self- evident.
When have masks not helped with airborne pathogens? Yes itās too soon for data on Corona specifically. We do have data on airborne pathogens. Itās why we cover ourselves when we sneeze. I believe that this is a case where we can be safe to assume that many of the rules apply.
Exactly.
All I wonder is how many of the precautions are more for psychological effect, especially considering that most people donāt follow them strictly and the enforcement isnāt 100%

Wearing a mask stops tiny droplets. Tiny droplets can contain covid19. Wearing a mask. stops covid19.
Is there a problem with that?
