I forget what movie it is, but the SGT said to take it off because you can’t shoot straight with it on 😂
Band of Brothers; Actually in the midst of watching it with my wife.
Believe it was Bull that told one of the replacements that just before the battle of the bulge.
Is a bayonet affecting your accuracy more fudd-lore or legit?
@Soulraiser damn you sniped that. What a damn good series that is.
I can't imagine the round even coming close to the blade unless something is seriously wrong with your gun.
I have no idea about the legitimacy of that though. Never shot with one and I doubt with rifles these days it would have any effect
It has to do with the added weight at the front of the rifle that you aren't used to being there.
That makes a lot more sense. If you train bayonet fixed it shouldn't be an issue though.
But then it's an issue when you don't have it fixed. It's a lose-lose imo. But useful back when they had bolt action or semi autos that jammed every other shot in a mostly trench warfare style of fighting.
Yea if it came down to a knife situation I think I’d rather have it in my hand
Anyone have any thoughts on sig m18? Thinking about picking one up this week.
Just a P320, isn't it?
Same advice I give everyone on every Sig USA product: stay away from it until the initial product runs with QC that would make PSA blush are done. Get one in 6 months to a year.
Yea the M18 is a 320
Should be good to pick up
What yall think for a minimalistic cleaning kit on the field,
Gonna go with this I think, keep it small and basic
Boresnake, rifle lube (or grease if you’re a G), a brush (not brass or metal, it will cause unnecessary damage) q-tips (for getting to the area where the gas rings are)
Awesome thanks!
Attached with molle.
A small Allen key set wouldn’t hurt.
For those of you who have never heard of it, CherryBalmz gun grease is amazing for your rifle.
It’s entirely formulated for your rifle. I’ve talked to the guy who invented it.
It’s amazing how he’s so good at what he does, he understands the science behind everything as well.
And every single person I know who has used it has told me they don’t ever want to switch back to traditional gun lube.
I personally use alg go juice. Won't say it's any better than other stuff but it's safe for your skin, doesn't gunk up or rot, and rifles don't seem to quit when it has this stuff in it.
I use SLIP EWL, but the other recommendations are good as well
All good options
I hear good things about both SLIP and Go Juice
With the bolt gun I'm saving up for, I'm still kinda torn. Starting to lean a little towards 308 given 7.62x51 is available anywhere in the world and it may be better for learning ballistic calculations on.
Between 7.62 x 51 and?
6.5 creedmoor. I understand it's a superior cartridge ballistically, but 308 and 762 seem like they'd be more available to me in a crisis
Practically speaking, 7.62 x 51 is a good choice.
The availability of optics that have built in BDCs is pretty good as well for 7.62 x 51.
The optic I'll likely be getting is a nightforce shv 4-14x50 f1 in mil dots
Took me longer than i expected to find a mildot scope with milradian adjustments that was also under 2k
My dad already has nice reloading equipment with 308 dies so I'll be able to make my own when i visit
