Compare Ildjarn to the Ramones or early Led Zeppelin.
Just in terms of structure
Also the happy major scales are punk as fuck.
It's melodically constructed but it's very hard to call it black metal. Lacks the fluid chords of Bathory and Sarcofago.
Ildjarn-Nidhogg is on the edge of crossover and metal as ambient music.
Some of the other material on forest poetry? Not at all.
the spirit is what matters
buttcoin @ 12k
The spirit matters the most
structurally it just has to be close enough to qualify as metal
If it is primarily melodic as opposed to rhythmic or harmonic, then it is metal if it has the spirit
And it needs to have electric guitar timbre
that's it
can't say I enjoy the drums on that nidhogg album
Damn didn't expect to find music discussion here
oh only the first track has a drum machine it seems
this server overlaps with the staff and fans of deathmetal.org
or rather; there's a lot of overlap of staff and audience for amerika.org and deathmetal.org

Structurally? Forest poetry cycles between two four or five note riffs. One typically a variation on the other.
Von is more metal somehow
Probably major/minor scale difference but I don't remember shit about that side of things
von is more riff-based
ildjarn barely has riffs
Ildjarn is snapshot music
Music usually is motion picture.
ILDJARN IS AMBIENT
MEANT TO BE LISTENED TO AS FULL DEMOS OR ALBUMS
A CONSPIRACY OF DETAILS
TO PORTRAY A SILHOUETTE
ildjarn doesn't sound like its doing a good job being ambient
@diversity_is_racism ildjarn is manifesto music
each recording is a manifesto about his personal life nad his then feeling about nature and mankind
ildjarn is dead expresses his failures to compete musically, the lack of appreciation, how it is released on a fucking poseur label, and he lack of romantic success, and failures with women
Diary entry is better, @Death Strike's Bat
