You should also know that we keep records of infractions, so we don't forget things.

Our moderators delete first and ask questions later. Sometimes that upsets people, sometimes rightly so, but we put the order and protection of our server before not upsetting anyone ever. If you start onto a topic that we think might start a problem, we're going to shut it down. Even if you and your interlocutor are managing to do it with civility, maybe someone else will come in and start a problem. We're not having it. Don't be upset and definitely don't snark off about it.

It's never personal.

And yes, we sometimes end up needing to apologize for moderating too quickly or harshly. It's a result of simply being easier to ask forgiveness, rather than leadership needing to answer very difficult public questions over something we _should_ have moderated, but chose not to.

Also note it's against the rules to post personal information in here. We will always assume you don't have permission unless we know for a fact otherwise. It's also sometimes against the rules to post your own, if we think whatever you post could be used to track down somebody else (e.g. a Facebook page on which you are friends with IE members).

Yeah also when new we have no way of knowing if any information someone says is themselves is indeed themselves, so we have to get rid of it.

@Reinhard Wolff I've got several, actually, but here's one for now: So is Slack a permanent solution? We have Mercury and Rocket Chat which our organization hosts, so that's permanent, obviously. Just wanted to understand the reasoning/technicality behind splitting communication lines up.

We'd love to have everything on Mercury (RocketChat) of course, but each server on Mercury has to be built up from scratch; it's not plug and play like on Discord. So, we'll use Slack for all department, regional, and event servers and use Mercury for the national server in the coming future.

On the issue of not affiliating ourselves with white nationalism; Would we be given grief for discussing William Pierce or other such individual figures in a positive light amongst ourselves in the organization? Or does that particular example fall under a "Rule 7" (from <#405211244023382016>) violation?

I discussed postering/flyering with my state coordinator, and he said there's been a recent overhaul or changes to what content we're putting out, so at the time they didn't have any materials on hand. So I wanted to ask about the process of of obtaining materials, or who we should talk to, for everyone's sake.
