EU was Germany's wet dream from what America has - United States.

2019-11-30 21:46:53 UTC

terrible comparison

2019-11-30 21:56:18 UTC

How so?

2019-11-30 22:03:33 UTC

US is a monetary AND fiscal union, the ratio of 'top' level to 'mid level' spending is exactly reversed(and then some), there would never be a Troika towards a US state the way EU/German treated Greece, on top of germany's attempt at running a trade and budget surplus.
As a collection of states, the US is egalitarian on levels never seen in history

2019-11-30 22:09:56 UTC

Be that as it may, the EU was formed under the same ideals. You cannot deny that.

2019-11-30 22:10:41 UTC

I sure can

2019-11-30 22:11:04 UTC

I've read the US founding generation's stuff. I've read and seen the development of the European experiment

2019-11-30 22:21:43 UTC

But there are still striking similarities to the EU states and the U.S. They're actively trying to turn the whole of Europe into one big country.

2019-11-30 22:22:30 UTC

Either way, Poland and Hungary should leave the EU all together.

2019-11-30 22:23:01 UTC

The EU was formed to benefit the likes of Germany, Denmark, and France.

2019-11-30 22:24:44 UTC

The EU never had 'must give same-sex marriage' as a human rights requirement, and it never had must be X or you get kicked out.

2019-11-30 22:25:36 UTC

Some states are more conservative than others.

2019-11-30 22:25:47 UTC

As is countries in the EU

2019-11-30 22:25:53 UTC

Yep.

2019-11-30 22:26:04 UTC

So to me, thats similar in nature.

2019-11-30 22:28:34 UTC

Though the EU is not as federalized as America, and you can't pass laws like the US can at a national level.

2019-11-30 22:29:05 UTC

Which is a big weakness of the EU system.

2019-11-30 22:29:21 UTC

MY BIRTHDAY ON MONDAY

2019-11-30 22:29:29 UTC

Yeah, not yet, at least. but they're working on that.

2019-11-30 22:29:57 UTC

I think Europe should remain a continent, not a state.

Oh?

2019-12-01 06:42:41 UTC

What is brexit?

2019-12-01 17:38:26 UTC

Brexit means Brexit

2019-12-01 23:40:13 UTC

Brexit is Britain's exit to leave the European Union

2019-12-02 01:27:27 UTC

Brexit is a dying right-wing xenophobic fantasy

2019-12-02 01:27:55 UTC

An absolute waste of time, effort, and money

2019-12-02 02:39:38 UTC

"xenophobic fantasy" lol

2019-12-02 06:30:29 UTC

"Right-wing", yes. Because Corbyn is very right wing

2019-12-02 07:26:07 UTC

Corbyn is wishy-washy about it, flip flopping where convenient. Though his overall position has been fairly anti-EU

2019-12-02 07:46:45 UTC

He's only wishy washy because of his party

2019-12-02 07:46:54 UTC

He's always been a Eurosceptic

2019-12-02 07:47:07 UTC

But he knows that the other members of his Party want to Remain

2019-12-02 07:47:16 UTC

It's why he's "neutral" about it

2019-12-02 07:47:34 UTC

He knows he has to say Remain but he can't get himself to say it

2019-12-02 09:22:15 UTC

Corbyn was right to be Euroskeptic when he first got started, but the EU has moved away from those earlier positions

2019-12-02 09:22:57 UTC

I think he missed that. Unlike the Eurozone countries, Britain can get the best of both worlds, but that would require the Tories to drop their 'reasons' for opposing any fiscal policy
