There are a clear trait of nationalism in Vietnamese society and even though the government is "Socialist", they are in fact Nationalistic

yea nationalism is important when your nation is under a foreign threat

because if you just let them invade and rule, you'll absolutely get a worse quality of life

Especially if the other side have a sense of Nationalism and Supremacy, they will most definitely treat your people like shit

when theres no threat from foreign powers however, nationalism is a waste of time
