we have records of GHG levels and their correlation with global temps going back millenia
the consensus on a causal relationship is accepted
im in the field ive read plenty of the science
you dont have to believe me but as the kids say
it is what it is
the maginitude and consequences of change are debated
@chuckayy So you think global warning is man made?
to some degree
pun intended
@chuckayy why?
`we have records of GHG levels and their correlation with global temps going back millenia
the consensus on a causal relationship is accepted`
@GoldenGail3 what about chernobyl really though?
like do you think driving in a car is safer than flying?
many people might think that way, but the statistics show that the chances of injury or death from driving in a car are way higher than flying by air and i think that plays a big role into fears about nuclear energy
people associate it with these undeniably horrible events
but that skews their perception on it
good read either way i think
Nuclear is safe as fuck (as the article states)
But yeah, it's all about perception
Nuclear energy is one of the safest methods of getting electricity
The problem is with the method of getting energy from fission and the maintenance of the facilities
Which raises concerns in some places
There is also the method of getting rid of nuclear waste
And also precautions when something is about to go wrong
But overall i can say that nuclear energy is one of the best ways of getting electricity
And who knows maybe in a decade humanity will be able to do nuclear fusion with the yield of Q=10
wrong
climate change is REAL.
If climate change is real then "climate-debate" is a huge fucking waste of energy and time. What about "climate change discussion" instead? Can we actually talk about real issues in the climate change era instead of indulging russian trollz and calling it a debate
I think the channel is for discussing all things climate related. And believe it or not, there really are folks here who seem skeptical about the extent of human contributions to climate change...
@Deleted User im confused, did someone say climate change isn't real here recently?
supporting nuclear energy doesn't mean you dont believe in climate change
quite the contrary i reckon
nah i wasnt talking bout that
`What the science says...
Theory, models and direct measurement confirm CO2 is currently the main driver of climate change.`
that is an incorrect statement
the science does not say this
