nice one alabama
not a scary precedent to set or anything

@The Lemon almost as good as the other day when he thought western liberalism meant like, the politics of california
ykno its kinda amazing how quiet things have gotten for a few days regarding the mueller report
it's been at least 48 hours since trump has even falsely stated "no obstruction no collusion"
@Techpriest except when there is a special counsels office....
and that special counsels office adheres to DOJ policy that states you cannot indict a sitting president
and beyond that you cannot even accuse him of a crime because he doesn't have the opportunity to defend himself in a court of law
so that whole "innocent until proven guilty" talking point isn't much use imo
hence the whole reason that robert mueller explicitly stated in his report that there was never any chance that he *would* have accused the president of any crimes
but, he also made it extremely damn clear that if he could say without a doubt that no crime had been committed on the obstruction front... he would do so
and he didnt
im no sherlock holmes, but my deduction from that is that it's pretty obvious whats happening here in regards to criminal misconduct
@beyond_gravity im not sure if that was supposed to be sarcastic but im going with a yes given the exclamation point
@J. โIn sum, the investigation established multiple links between Trump Campaign officials and individuals tied to the Russian government. Those links included Russia offers of assistance to the Campaign. In some instances, the Campaign was receptive to the offer, while in other instances the Campaign officials shied away,โ the Mueller report said. โUltimately, the investigation did not establish that the Campaign coordinated or conspired with the Russian government in its election-interference activities."
im not gonna sit here and say there is a conspiracy charge or anything... but when you are receptive to individuals tied to the russian government handing over campaign data....
and the thought of reporting something like that to the FBI doesn't even cross your mind...
i guess that doesn't disprove what you say... but i think it's a bit more than just some russians running ads in favor of trump
@Techpriest some would argue that what mueller did exactly was hand the ball over to congress to determine whether or not to move forward with impeachment
yes, that hasn't happened obvs
but he is still due to testify even though i don't believe he will say anything that we don't know already
well this won't suffice i'm sure but example A:
On April 26, 2016, Papadopoulos, a campaign foreign policy adviser, met in London with a professor he โunderstood to have substantial connections to Russian government officials,โ according to a plea agreement that Papadopoulos reached with the Justice Department. At the meeting, the professor โ later identified as Joseph Mifsud โ told Papadopoulos that the Russian government had โdirtโ on Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in the form of โthousands of emails,โ the plea agreement said."

not perfect examples, but a campaign foreign policy adviser meeting with a whole lotta people who are like 1 degree separated from the russian government is somethin to me
and this ain't a quote from the report directly, but to cap it off:
"On Tuesday, when news broke that Donald Trumpโs former campaign manager Paul Manafort had shared internal polling data with Konstantin Kilimnik, a Russian business associate with ties to Russian intelligence, the through line between the campaign and the Kremlin began to look incontrovertible."
im not tryna say these things are examples of impeachable conduct, or a direct conspiracy link to the president... but I am saying that there is a whole lot more than a nothing burger with this investigation in my opinion
no doubt about that, and thats part of why i made that last comment saying I know these examples aren't a smoking gun
but I like to think that both sides of the aisle can agree in thinking that type of conduct is pretty fuckin deplorable
I know people love trump for not being a normal politician and changing the status quo, throwing a wrench in the styem yada yada
but I dno, I like to think that the standard for how your average everyday citizens behave is a heck of a lot lower than the standard for how I personally think a POTUS should conduct themselves
but thats getting into my own feelings on the matter and nothing related to the evidence in front of us re. the mueller report
his recent comments didn't help the situation either https://www.latimes.com/politics/la-na-pol-trump-election-foreign-assistance-mueller-20190614-story.html
Yeah... if Trump could stop trying to get his citizenship question added to the 2020 Census, that'd be great.
When a new question is considered for the census that shit takes 5 years, stop tryna force feed that question in at the finish line
@MRporpiose it would defeat one of the core purposes of the census which is counting the number of people living within our borders
whether they are a US citizen or not is really not important, at least for the purposes of just getting a raw head count
is that project veritas
i guess i'll just read the article
oh i think i remember this one...
also relevant
inb4 complaints about politifact
@MrThatGuy i don't disagree with that, but there is absolutely a component to the census that is about getting the straight data on just how many people are living here
yeah, ideally federal resources should go to citizens... cool
we still need to know how many people are living within our borders don't we?
and for a whole lot of other reasons besides the representative votes
their respective numbers....
sounds synonymous with a head count
never claimed to say it was the sole or primary purpose i dont think though
fair enough, could just have been a miscommunication on my part then
i guess in my head, everything you are talking about regarding the allocation of resources starts with tallying up just how many people we have and where they are livin
well at some point its probably impossible to try and only make sure it goes to citizens...
like if we have a sizable population and they need medical services
or the police or w.e else
i think it's important to get those resources to that area
i don't think its too much of a stretch to say you need to tally to allocate resources though...
but im pickin up what you're puttin down either way ๐
you're a pedantic one aren't you
is this a bot and im just getting wooshed right now
oh i didnt mean to call you pedantic fyi
i was talking about the person who keeps correcting my words with forgotten apostrophes hhaa
it happens to the best of us
@MrThatGuy so heres a scenario...somehow you manage to exclude anyone who is not a citizen from the census and everything goes ahead, changes are made yada yada
wait i had a total brain fart midway through that
i do apologize, that didn't play out in my head as well as i was hoping
really im just tryna harp on the idea that the census data is used for things like where to put a new police department, which areas might need a new hospital or a fire station
i guess it just becomes a real slippery slope if you try to say resources are for citizens only
cause that could lead to an emergency that winds up affecting citizens as well
yeah i guess the point i was trying to make is modern society is so mingled already in that regard
if you look at a place like LA
