Well the dead person was once sentient so hes alive
No, doesnt follow
@Sauropithicus
Bullpuckey. All laws are not moral laws.
Murder is not a moral law. Murder has a victim. It's common law.
Not buying booze on sundays or FOSTA are moral laws.
@Sauropithicus I didn't argue that. A person that fell into a coma had sentience prior, and if he recovers retains it still (depending on the condition of course).
@Puerto Rican Nelson what is your point then?
@Sauropithicus sentience and able to examine our decisions and lot in life is the human experience, that's all.
@wuzamarine semantics, but ok, I should make myself more aware of legal terminology and that sort of thing, I'll grant you. Sorry if i misused a term but I think you get my point that any law is made based off of a moral judgment
nope. common laws is rooted in math
I lost 1, is the typical equation.
@Puerto Rican Nelson I dont think sentience is a good definition of what makes a human a human. Once again, coma example. I think DNA is the best measure of whether someone is a human or not
You can't explain that murder is immoral with a mathematical equation
@Sauropithicus if we want to stay strictly to the animal kingdom I guess
You could make a utilitarian argument perhaps, but Im not interested in utilitarian ethics, I find that shit disturbing
@Sauropithicus Murder is only immoral when authorized by the wrong party.
Utilitarian ethics can justify a whole bunch of crazy shit, lets just stick to the NAP bro
Murder is immoral
When murder is defined as aggressive killing of another individual
key word aggressive
But all murder is immoral
There is no such thing as justified murder, if its justified killing, it isnt accurate to call it murder
Well if what you did was moral, I wouldnt call it murder
GG @Sauropithicus, you just advanced to level 3!
killing can be moral, but if it is then it isnt murder
The plaque at 1st USMC Div Recon read "Killing people is our business"
Killing people can be justified
Got milk
@Sauropithicus do you believe in a morally neutral homicide?
Murder is only immoral when authorized by the wrong party. That is just a fact.
Murder is immoral
Moral killing isnt murder
Moral killing is just killing
Killing is not inherently immoral
What's the difference between murder and a killing? Authorization.
Yes.
No
Murder is aggressive
Non-murder killing is reactionary
To some other point of aggression
Perhaps attempted murder
As much as I disagree with this morally, I think it should be an option for a woman to abort if it's a rape case (because this is being forced) or if it's truly life threatening. The problem is that a majority of abortions aren't done for these reasons, more for convenience.
