I certainly think it's a mix of both
At the end of the day, I don't want to make a false dilemma fallacy but either there are socioeconomical factors or it's caused by biological factors
Or a mix
If you deny all environmental factors, then just face it and argue the genetic argument
Politicians take some of the blame as well

Saying that someone ends up in prison because of their race is entirely illogical when you try and argue it from a genetic standpoint
There have been multiple studies which have shown there is more genetic variation within racial groups than between making races a biologically invalid concept

Blacks are in prison more becuase they are more likely to commit crime
To say otherwise is a farse
Just look at any data from America or South Africa when it comes to any violent crime

@The Lemon How exactly can you explain that they commit more crimes? Many people in here are denying the socioeconomical effect. If it isn't their environment, it has to be inherent to them and people should face their position.

Every single "study" I've seen, which always just turns out to be a bunch of statistics without an actual study, is just that
Raw statistics which havent been controlled for education levels, household income, family stability, neighbourhood etc. etc.
