Granted that's something that can be revoked by individuals

2018-04-11 00:18:48 UTC

and isn't institutional

2018-04-11 00:18:49 UTC

That isn't a government policy >.>

2018-04-11 00:19:07 UTC

Goalpost moving is difficult to resist, I know.

2018-04-11 00:19:07 UTC

The idea is still being given thought.

2018-04-11 00:19:12 UTC

In fringe groups.

2018-04-11 00:19:13 UTC

Politics is downstream from culture.

2018-04-11 00:19:55 UTC

And in the United States, the push for Amnesty comes with the intent to allow illegal immigrants the right to vote

2018-04-11 00:20:07 UTC

And if you hadn't noticed, it's 'fringe groups' that are getting a lot of attention.

2018-04-11 00:20:19 UTC

This is true.

2018-04-11 00:20:23 UTC

My personal reaction to that shit is 'this is literally selling, bartering or otherwise manipulating your vote, which is illegal'

2018-04-11 00:20:26 UTC

can't they do tht now in cali?

2018-04-11 00:20:42 UTC

Potentially defacto

2018-04-11 00:20:51 UTC

This shit is so obscured it's ridiculous.

2018-04-11 00:20:58 UTC

Not officially, but many states don't require an ID to vote, at least some of the really blue ones.

2018-04-11 00:21:21 UTC

And our left has screamed 'racism' at the idea of requiring an ID for one to be able to vote.

2018-04-11 00:21:43 UTC

I do know that, on the approach to the 2016 elections, the governor of Virginia granted something like 40,000 felons the right to vote.

2018-04-11 00:22:42 UTC

And that voting base manipulation is being given political purchase in the language used

2018-04-11 00:22:58 UTC

The right to vote is a civil rights issue.

2018-04-11 00:22:59 UTC

like, currently in jail felons? or people who got out of jail 10 years ago?

2018-04-11 00:24:10 UTC

I was wrong

2018-04-11 00:24:12 UTC

it wasn't 40,000

2018-04-11 00:24:15 UTC

I personally do not comprehend the simple fact that going to prison for literally anything other than treason or otherwise directly attempting to undermine or violently manipulate the government and/or democratic process removes your right to vote in the US, but that's just me.

2018-04-11 00:24:15 UTC

it was 200,000

2018-04-11 00:24:16 UTC

My bad.

2018-04-11 00:25:08 UTC

There was a time when we would laugh at the idea of people legitimately trying to claim that 'there is no such thing as biological sex', and made a joke of it, only for it to actually happen later on.

2018-04-11 00:25:43 UTC

there was a time the onion was satire and not actual news

2018-04-11 00:25:52 UTC

It seems to keep happening with the left: we would come up with a new extreme to try to laugh at, only for them to actually start preaching that extreme down the line later on.

2018-04-11 00:26:13 UTC

le 'virtuous pedophile'.

2018-04-11 00:26:31 UTC

did you say MTG judges?

2018-04-11 00:26:38 UTC

I'm honestly surprised that hasn't taken off yet. They're a little bit late to the party on that one. They should have been glorifying pedophilia by now.

2018-04-11 00:27:08 UTC

I mean... It's all part of the process.

2018-04-11 00:27:13 UTC

I'm just waiting for the term 'pedosexual' to join the LGBTXYZBBQ acronym.

2018-04-11 00:28:11 UTC

seems relevant

2018-04-11 00:28:33 UTC

It's one of the last 'wrong' and 'taboo' dragons they've yet to slay.

2018-04-11 00:28:40 UTC

It already has, Jaden

2018-04-11 00:28:44 UTC

In some areas, it definitely has.

2018-04-11 00:29:03 UTC

I can assure you, it's coming.
