If you tell people it's forbidden, it becomes desired. If you tell them they can do it, but they're going to get mocked for it, it's a little less desireable.

It's why political correctness is such a powerful tool. It disables that ability to mock.

It's not religion, race, creed, sex, even sexual preference or 'perceived gender' that lead to the true 'degeneracy' of today. It's speech restrictions on those who oppose it.
