the idea of saving europe underminds its true problems regardless of what your solution is. they a countrys not a monolith. while in the last 50 years the contanent has become more homogenous than its ever been since the roman empire, deep in the core of every nation there is a need to be themselves and have control over their lives and know themselves as their ancestors knew themselves. europe can never give that to anyone because europe has never existed, not truely. its history is not its own but that of a hundred so groups of people who have been in millennia of conflict, seporation, and their own perspective, nothing can change that but forgetting it, and forgetting it means your people have no history, and people without history rarely have meaning

I can't believe I actually got myself to read it all: https://www.refinery29.com/2018/05/199256/cultural-appropriation-vs-appreciation
When you teach people to get upset about what they think are anthills, why are you surprised when they get upset at actual anthills?
anyone here saw Deadpool 2 and not find it funny?
the amount of SJW "jokes" is huge
Making fun of SJWs or pro SJW?
mostly the latter I would say
2 characters were there just because they were lesbians, nothing else
Fuck. It’s like they are determined to run every movie into the ground.
cultural appropriation jokes everywhere
jokes about cops being racist
an orphanage full of white guys that (without any explanation) "are ALL pedophiles"
"don't kill anyone", proceeds to kill only white people
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
ahh
the main "kid" of the plot is a really fat guy
and one of his lines is about fat people representation in Hollywood on acting roles
Rotten tomatoes has it in the 80% mark and usually if a movie is too SJW it gets to around 60%. Might be ok regardless.
Well... one of the lesbians was obviously into deadpool, sooo...
Always go by the audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. The critic score is political.
The audience score for Deadpool 2 is about the same as the critic score so it can't be that bad.
But you also get things like this:
https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/death_wish_2018
I remember listening to a podcast and the guy on there said that it's better for a movie to get a Rotten Tomatoes score in the mid 80's rather than the 90's, as a score in the 90's is the sign of a film for critics while a score in the 80's is more of a sign of mainstream appeal
That makes sense to me.
If every critic agrees it's likely virtue signaling and not actual criticism.
Maybe I've been watching the "solo: a star wars story" reviews while the critical score has stayed at 70% but audience score whent down to 54% and now it's up to 63%
Which makes me think there's some fuckery going on there.
Solo seems caught between the two factions
those who see a female and scream sjws have gone too far and those who see anything progressive and go this is the best thing since sliced bread
and somewhere in the middle are real reviews
