@Atkins first off, while there are many things that almost everyone believes is wrong, the terms good and evil, moral or immoral are subjective. Your argument is the same argument used against free speech. "Well yeah, government censoring is bad, but i mean, nazis are also just as bad, so lets stick with censoring speech." You will never get rid of pedos. Just because you don't seen them doesn't mean they are not already there. decartelizing won't make there suddenly be more pedos. But they would feel safe enough to be more open about it, meaning you can identify them, and figure out how to deal with them.

@Grenade123 I generally dislike naïve techno-utopianism that only sees the good uses for new technology without giving any thought to the bad. That attitude has given us plenty of grief in the past, and as technology becomes more and more powerful it'll give us plenty more grief in the future.
That doesn't mean we shouldn't make new technology; that just means we need to design new technology while constantly thinking of how it can be abused.
