@Timcast Hey there Tim, another great well thought piece on alt right and intelectual dark web here:
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/may/22/when-the-media-starts-celebrating-hipster-fascists-something-has-gone-very-wrong
Also @Timcast here is another of those backfire policy stories. https://inews.co.uk/news/politics/labour-self-identification-transgender-woman-david-lewis-womens-officer/
"A man has been suspended from Labour after he attempted to subvert the partyโs rules on gender self-identification. Party activist David Lewis claimed he identified as a woman โon Wednesdaysโ, and so was eligible to stand for the constituency Labour Partyโs (CLP) womenโs officer position, as the election happened to fall on a Wednesday."
Well i predict this is going to backfire
Just imagine twitter handle of next dem president
Especially if its woman or another person of colour
It will be funny to see sjw fuming how they cant do anything about it lol
Nah she was fishing for retweets
Sargon made vid about her
And described her very accurately
Anyway declaring it public forum might mean that every politicians twatter will be deemed as such
And the fact that they will not be able to block ppl will make it very lucrative to employ professional shitposters
You will have team of ppl just folowing oposite partys accs and derailing and shitposting under neath without worry
As long as they dont break rules any nonsense and reaction images will be legit ok
Yeah but it make sense for politician beeing able to currate his own social media acc
Making it impossible is making it harder to actually communicate with electorate if the politician chooses so
Very professional lol
I hope he at least mentioned it
In that article
Sure deserves a videa in any case
Its game changer
No just official political acc shouldent be able to
According to the judge
I think they might come with some sort of guideline for it
Maybe you will be able to set rules of conduct
Yeah as i said it will very likely backfire big time
Funny thing is that i agree in principle
You should have a public forum
But not beeing able to currate your own twitter feed is different
Well i take it more as space for comunication with rules set by the politician
Another thing will be accountability imo
Will you be able to sue twitter if say bernie sanders blocks you
And they dont revoke it ?
Thats what is going to be very interesting
Right now
For example you cant realy do anything
To the social compenies itself right now
So wven when you get unfairly banned thats your problem
But if some parts are public forum
It will be up to the providers to make sure everyone has equal access
Tor sucks tho
At least on smartphones
Well it never works well for me
Had to use different vpn tool to bypass silly british blocks
Lel is that a local rule here ?
Wearing a beanie on avatars ?
@Timcast this is also pretty interesting https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/may/24/irish-anti-abortion-campaigners-dodge-google-ad-ban
Putting those adds into mobile games is an ingenious move lol
"Kiloo, the Danish developer behind the popular Subway Surfers mobile game, said it was baffled by how Irish players were seeing anti-abortion adverts and insisted: โIn no way do we want anything political like this in our game.โ
Shows that even the game devs have no real influence what adds show in their games
"Anti-abortion groups claim Googleโs decision to unilaterally ban all adverts relating to the Irish referendum shows โdirect foreign interference in a referendum campaignโ but Dwyer said the company had set a global precedent, which it would now come under pressure to replicate in future elections around the world. โIt shouldnโt be these companies that are self-regulating, it should be our government that is setting the rules that they then have to follow.โ
I like the commenters are telling her she is stupid
Frankly in London they had so much cuts in police force that they dont have ppl to do those body searches
After 6 in the afternoon you will not meet patroling officier unless you call for him/her
The scary thing about yt is that they can terminate your channel at any time for any reason and you cant do a thing about it
Also i am not sure if i agree with you all about that Tommy Robinson thing
He knew he was provoking them pretty hard when we was reporting in front of court after he got that 1st sentence imo
If he had only written comentary after the preceeding He would have been fine probably
Tbh the news commentary is not worth the trouble for yt
Btw young turks have broken those drug rules countless times
I have lost count how many times did they told their audience that smokimg weed is ok and they should try it
Going as far as describing their own experiences with beeing under influence and so on
Kek
"Maajid Nawaz leverages his as a โformer Islamistโ, brown skin and an affiliation with Harris, to peddle Islamophobia within largely cosmopolitan circles and liberal audiences. His Quilliam Foundation the Islamophobic tenet that radicalization is a uniquely Muslim phenomenon, and Nawaz has stated that โIslamism is the biggest form of extremismโ, endorsing destructive policing programs that have eroded the civil liberties of Muslims in the United Kingdom. With the help of Harris, Nawaz has extended his native informant reach into the United States. "
There realy should be some sort of quality control of what opinion pieces they show
They look at it from the point of power dynamics
They see the move to try to smear legitimate critics as islamophobes more advantageous then risks of legitimazing actual islamophobes
Notice how little actual facts did the profesor used in that article
I find the need to put muslims calling for reforms of their beliefs most interesting in that article.
Clearly he wants any criticism be recognised as phobic reaction
I dont mind ppl publishing their opinions
But the press should be held acountable for them
That article was bordering on libel imo
I would say they got heads up on wsj wanting to publish article on this
Worst thing is that sometimes guardian does good job
But lots of opinion pieces in there are just rubbish
Ad i dont mean them having opinions i disagree with
I mean them publishing halftruths and oversimplifications like that one.
Lol he is just old silly man trying to do what he think is good
Ye he is
But they are not very proud of him there
