To be honest, at least they are making it harder for the general populace to take feminism seriously.
On the other hand, you only need a small subset of the population to agree to create such change. Some of these radicals do end up in positions of power.
It's a bit disturbing to think the ideas for gay conversion therapy are probably more valid today (just by number of people who probably fit the situation; not that it explains every situation).
O ya saw that one
she seems to like russia, she can go to russia.
she is being heavily disrespectfull
I wish people who hate the US would move and renounce their citizenship so they can’t vote.
fucking Vietnam war all over again
maybe the people of a democratic nation should be required to perform some service to the nation for a period of time after maturity in order to have an atleast attempted relationship of responcibility to the nation before they share the responcibility of the direction of the nation with all other citizines within the nation 🤔
i do believe compulsory service would help with social cohesion.
there is definitely valid criticism of some of the wars the us fights
question is if the soldiers are in any responsible or even know the exact motive of the government
moving this here
We have a saying here: “The People Build the Army and the Army Builds the Nation”. It's very true.
i dont think we need to go full starship troopers, because i actually think theres more to a nation than its army, so the service id describe would also cover various social services, lots of stuff we actually make prisoners do but should actually be matters of national pride like keeping the country clean
also in my opinion the idea is to have every person living here to have a better respect for the nation and the responcibility of the vote rather than just having a responcibile nationalistic elite that are the only voting population
there will be people who dont but id like to aim for atleast 80%
It's not all fighting.
sure, but i also find our army to be elite and have very strict standards to who can participate to the extent that its very nearly a professional army
perhaps a militia without the expectation for it to ever be deployed onto foreign territitory would be more appropriate
Should be noted when I say our army I'm not talking about the US.
it would be expensive to train everyone to be even standard infantry in our army
oh sure, sorry 😛
Voting is an exercise of state power, and thereby a use of force. In order to vote one should first understand this. Military service could be one way to achieve that, but there are almost certainly others.
That, and military service does not in any way guarantee that a person will become a responsible adult. Some veterans do, some don't.
leaked jordan peterson transcript
Actual (book) SST allows for non military service iirc
its a benefit to everyone to be trained in self defense, so it would go that there should be some level of basic training that at least all people without some kind of genetic disorder could pass. this would not be the same as basic training for current standing militaries. There would still be the volunteer level of actual combat level troops. This would only be compulsory once 17 or 18 or something. But once out of compulsory basic, you'd go into some form of social service: EMT, Firefighter, police, dumping ground for the useless, etc. while doing your tour of duty in the respective area, perhaps a basic 2 year community college or trade school level education could be given, although passing of that would not be required. I think it would help social cohesion as a shared experience everyone in the nation could have. You could also use it for forcing integration of incoming immigrants. What to stay here? Get through your 3-4 years social service. You will have the option to be sent home, no harm no foul, feel free to try again kind of deal.
now, that said, there is still problems with this
1) people who just can't do it for whatever reason. birth defects, genetic disorders, medical problems, what have you
2) it could be very costly which can be hard to justify
3) the larger the population this is applied to, the more unmanageable it becomes, most likely, for several reasons such as the larger the area, the harder it is for people who really don't want to do this to move away. You have a lot less physical distance to move to leave central US compared to like, anywhere in denmark for example. Also the larger the less cost effective i image
more overhead for less and less returns
what about "owo"s?
