https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Millennium_Challenge_2002 i like to know your opinion about this

This led to accusations that the war game had turned from an honest, open, free playtest of U.S. war-fighting capabilities into a rigidly controlled and scripted exercise intended to end in an overwhelming U.S. victory,[2] alleging that "$250 million was wasted".[4]

2019-05-21 20:00:11 UTC

GG @YourFriend, you just advanced to level 4!

2019-05-21 20:02:12 UTC

Navy Captain John Carman, Joint Forces Command spokesman, said the war game had properly validated all the major concepts which were tested by Blue Force, ignoring the restrictions placed on Van Riper's Red Force that led them to succeed. Based on these findings, Carman stated that recommendations based on the war game's result on areas such as doctrine, training and procurement would be forwarded to General Richard Myers, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.[3]

restrictions on red forces made blue team win(USA Won in that challange)otherwise red force could have won(iranian simulated force)

Not really

2019-05-22 09:27:00 UTC

And the thing about Oxbridge is they're almost 50% private school when private school people make up 5% of the country

2019-05-22 09:27:23 UTC

And take it from a private school person, we're not that much more deserving to be at Oxbridge than anyone else

2019-05-22 09:28:03 UTC

You can say its because private schools are selective but that would reasonably only account for a 20:80 split or something along those lines

2019-05-22 09:28:15 UTC

And its because we get a higher quality of teaching

2019-05-22 09:28:20 UTC

Although its a difficult issue

2019-05-22 09:28:58 UTC

Because positive discrimination can often just lead to a toxic environment where people just say "you're only here because you come from a state school" or smth like that

2019-05-22 09:30:23 UTC

And you don't want to invalidate the hard work of private school people because, although we're generally taught better, we still have to put in a fuckton of work to get those good grades and its note even remotely like we get anything for free

2019-05-22 09:30:42 UTC

At least that's the case at the kind of private school I go to

2019-05-22 09:30:57 UTC

Another thing people never realise is there's a bit of a divide in private schools

2019-05-22 09:32:03 UTC

You have the more Urban and very academic ones like the one I go to which are expensive but not as insanely expensive as the other type and they are very selective academically so they can keep their high academic standards and you get a mix of middle class and upper class people going to these.

2019-05-22 09:34:03 UTC

And then you have the Ultra expensive not as selective or academic private schools in the countryside which you really have to be fully upper class top 1% to afford to go to and really are just for ultra rich (not necessarily clever) people like Eton and Harrow etc.

2019-05-22 09:36:07 UTC

🤔

2019-05-22 13:29:28 UTC

more like who gives a fuck about what college you go to

2019-05-22 13:29:35 UTC

The private colleges only give you connections
