perhaps not explicitly from swatting, but police raids on bad or intentionally false information

2018-06-05 15:43:21 UTC

hitting the wrong house

2018-06-05 15:43:26 UTC

good job there guys

2018-06-05 15:43:49 UTC

Swat killed a baby once by accidentally throwing a flash bang into a crib.

2018-06-05 15:44:00 UTC

christ

2018-06-05 15:44:07 UTC

I know theyve killed dogs

2018-06-05 15:44:16 UTC

and false targets

2018-06-05 15:44:18 UTC

in fact, there is at least one case of a police officer getting being shot and killed and the guy they were raiding getting off because they court was like "...so, you had bad intel, hit a house, and this guy thought you were attacking him.... MAYBE IT WAS BECAUSE YOU WERE ATTACKING HIM FOR NO REASON, HMMMMMM?"

2018-06-05 15:44:22 UTC

They kill dogs on purpose though

2018-06-05 15:44:31 UTC

yeah

2018-06-05 15:44:35 UTC

perhaps the cop wasn't killed. but was at least shot

2018-06-05 15:44:35 UTC

i know

2018-06-05 15:45:15 UTC

lifehack against wrongful swatting:

Place landmines in your yard

2018-06-05 15:45:28 UTC

thats illegal

2018-06-05 15:45:37 UTC

like, actually illegal, in most states

2018-06-05 15:45:47 UTC

I wanna know what percentage of swat team strikes are from intentonally false intel nowadays

2018-06-05 15:45:50 UTC

booby-traps with intent to harm are very much not legal.

2018-06-05 15:45:51 UTC

what about stand your ground laws? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ surely i'm defending my property!

2018-06-05 15:45:51 UTC

Yeah. Otherwise Iโ€™d have them๐Ÿ˜‚

2018-06-05 15:46:18 UTC

are booby-traps with intent to disable illegal?

2018-06-05 15:46:22 UTC

if its a wrongful swatting

Your intention isn't to harm ๐Ÿ˜›

2018-06-05 15:46:33 UTC

is disabling someone not harming them?

2018-06-05 15:46:39 UTC

its arguable

2018-06-05 15:46:43 UTC

i mean, a net gun might be okay

2018-06-05 15:46:45 UTC

Like a net?

2018-06-05 15:46:45 UTC

by that logic, shooting in self defense is harming someone too

2018-06-05 15:46:54 UTC

Or a tazer?

2018-06-05 15:46:55 UTC

@Dr.Wol its not a booby-trap

2018-06-05 15:46:56 UTC

Does the kid from home alone need to go to jail?

2018-06-05 15:47:05 UTC

what if its a rigged gun? ๐Ÿ˜›

2018-06-05 15:47:13 UTC

tripwired

2018-06-05 15:47:18 UTC

that is not you shooting in defense

2018-06-05 15:47:25 UTC

fucking fallout ptsd

2018-06-05 15:47:40 UTC

pressure plate shotguns <a:POGGERING:443009728746881026>

2018-06-05 15:47:52 UTC

i think the point is that there needs to be a person there to make a judgement call and also be accountable.

2018-06-05 15:47:54 UTC

its defense by proxy! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

2018-06-05 15:48:12 UTC

so wait,

an automated defense system is illegal in america?

2018-06-05 15:48:19 UTC

most likely

2018-06-05 15:48:23 UTC

shame

2018-06-05 15:48:31 UTC

gun camera turrets are sick af
