They were deporting illegal migrants who got through the border.
Who happen to be black.
They aren't deporting citizens.
Oh, so they're just enforcing borders
Yeah
That's completely fine. I don't see a problem with that
There are actually lots of legal Ethiopians in Israel and government programs to bring more.
Yeah come to think about it, they also have palestenians living there
And serving
Yup
You dont have many isrelis in palestine
Druze, Bedouins, Palestinians, etc.
Israel is 20% arab.
Anyways if it was an ethnostate they are doing a bad job of it.
It's just america
Huh, it would be really ironic if the Jews became the new nazis
Enforcing borders isnt a issue, but the above bit that was linked, was something that is now part of their constitution
Israel was always for Jews now it’s just written. I don’t think it will change policy.
If they start deporting non Jewish citizens I’d be concerned.
What does "right of national self-determination" mean? o.O
Im trying to actually find what the bill contains
But im failing to find any article that actually gives a link or spells out the bill
It was a change/addition to their constitution
But other then removing arabic as a official language, and the bit of exluciding 'self determination' to jewish people, cant find many specifics
Yeah Im bad. I got mad in advance
I think it’s a bunch of stuff about national symbols, holidays, language, and stuff like that.
Wacka gave a good link in general
So basically it doesn’t change much.
Admittedly, Yeah. Its going to piss off people who oppose Netanyahu/Etc, but it doesnt seem like it will have much of a effect on policy. It did inject a few things currently being done into the constitution though.
Mostly just solidifies things already being done.
Basically.
which makes it hard to undo
Yup.
Not that I think it would have been anyways. It’s been like that for the past seventy years.
most likely not
but its just that much harder
like, the reverse point is true: this change wasn't needed, it most likely was not going to change
