and i'm one of those crazies who thinks we use too many meds on everyone
Eh just stick with the best word. Mutiliate.
It covers all the bases.
@DrYuriMom No, that's not how it works. I know this very clearly, one of my aunts decided to give her two sons those things, and... one of them is so fucked up in the head it's insane, and the other, while being a stable member of society in some ways, has very clearly missed puberty and never going to get it.
Castrate only applies to boys/
Sterialize does not imply surgery
Learn English boyo
I am vociferous against anything permanent being done with kids under 16yo, and no surgery until age of consent.
Surgery induced sterialization is neutering or "snipping"
"kid can't sit stock still in school for 8 hours straight? HE MUST HAVE ADD!"
"Um... maybe you just let him run around for 10 minutes in the middle of the day instead of throwing him on pills that may or may not lead to an addictive habit"
"WHAT ARE YOU, SOME KIND OF ANTI VACCER!"
"....what"
I'm against puberty blockers as well for reasons mentioned above. They can be hugely damaging in their own way.
But delaying puberty to permit the kid to make their own decision as they get older? Why not? Isn't that liberty?
Its no different from russian choir boys getting castrated to keep their voices high
Would delaying puberty have an effect on their ability to make that choice? What effect would that have on their brain?
It has a lot of effects
What is wrong about giving kids the opportunity to make their own choice when they get old enough to consent?
how long is puberty typically delayed? can't imagine waiting until 15yo to start is at all good for a developing body
Puberty has a lot of side effects
I wish my voice wasn't so cringy to me...
It's only due to the modern high-protein diet that we have puberty so early
okay, so what happens if they wait until 18?
@DrYuriMom I assure you, the effects of delaying puberty aren't that you can just kickstart it whenever you're ready. It doesn't work that way. There is both physical evidence and studies, and I have direct anecdotal evidence (although relying exclusively on that is a logical fallacy).
What can I say? Cheeseburgers are delicious.
@DrYuriMom if you block puberty. That also means their brain is not developed. So technically their brain is not ready to do such desisions.
"Relying on evidence you have direct access to is a logical fallacy".
@DrYuriMom Evidence please, your study confirming this?
Anecdotal events may not provide a complete picture, but it is relevant data.
We use drugs to delay puberty - it's called precious puberty
why is the modern answer to literally everything drugs?
what am i saying, that is the human answer to everything since we first found cocaine and pot
And that kid will never have children.
Good job for killing childs future.
delay =/= stop
Thank you, @Grenade123
permanently stop i should say
@Aktriaz not really.
But thats complelty different thing than taking away childrens ablility to have kids in future.
Now I will back up and say I'm not sure how to feel about the recent "trendiness" or trans
now here is a question, @DrYuriMom do you think there are some who claim to be transgender out of a fad/to 'belong', rather than actual feelings of dysphoria
