through local taxes

2018-01-10 08:03:13 UTC

Paying for someone else's mistakes when it comes to a fire starting is fine?

2018-01-10 08:03:14 UTC

not federal

2018-01-10 08:03:22 UTC

Why does that matter?

2018-01-10 08:03:39 UTC

a one payer would be another federal tax

2018-01-10 08:04:37 UTC

You're not having to also then give insurance companies money, though, since your health coverage comes through taxes. It's not like you're paying it through taxes and then also giving medical companies and hospitals boatloads of money.

2018-01-10 08:05:24 UTC

There's no such thing as being slapped with a medical bill that you have to spend the rest of your life paying off, because you have the audacity to actually get sick or hurt.

2018-01-10 08:05:54 UTC

I mean he has a point, the US medical system is a farce

2018-01-10 08:06:18 UTC

And well, we can also lump in alot of unfortunate circumstances, like car accidents or well, accidents in general

2018-01-10 08:06:23 UTC

https://youtu.be/kahCrnqqhAM Bernie Sanders saying 'Single payer Medicaid would bankrupt nation'

2018-01-10 08:06:27 UTC

with people who put themselves in said situations

2018-01-10 08:06:31 UTC

And you don't get cases of someone's insurance turning down their cancer treatment because she had acne as a teenager.

2018-01-10 08:06:58 UTC

So, arguing against socialized healthcare? I dont see why we are arguing

2018-01-10 08:07:12 UTC

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2018-01-10 08:07:39 UTC

What? I was talking about private insurance companies.

2018-01-10 08:07:54 UTC

Since they're for-profit.

2018-01-10 08:08:05 UTC

And the discussion started with how leftist policies tend to require more taxes to support

2018-01-10 08:08:22 UTC

And Kane used the example of Healthcare

2018-01-10 08:08:37 UTC

Yeah, I'm not denying that lol. I just think healthcare would be one of those things people wouldn't mind paying a bit extra in taxes for.

2018-01-10 08:08:40 UTC

was I false?

2018-01-10 08:08:58 UTC

maybe some but not all

2018-01-10 08:09:02 UTC

Well, I can see why, but I think most people jsut want to pay less in general.

2018-01-10 08:09:15 UTC

But thats just me, and it is wrong of me to assume the same of everyone.

2018-01-10 08:09:49 UTC

And well.. I was also trying to rationalize why people wouldnt be in support of well.. More taxes for healthcare

2018-01-10 08:09:57 UTC

I doubt there are people out there looking to pay the most for something just to pay more for the same

2018-01-10 08:10:13 UTC

I guess it would be if I trusted most people to be responsible healthy adults and the people running it to be efficient

2018-01-10 08:10:34 UTC

then ask yourself, is the government efficient?

2018-01-10 08:10:48 UTC

Lol, hell no

2018-01-10 08:10:58 UTC

Well, with very few exceptions

2018-01-10 08:11:04 UTC

No, of course not lol.

2018-01-10 08:11:05 UTC

I could name a few I considered efficient

2018-01-10 08:11:07 UTC

only those that trust the gov want to give their health over to them

2018-01-10 08:11:10 UTC

But thats only opinion

2018-01-10 08:11:30 UTC

I am curious, which?

2018-01-10 08:11:43 UTC

Actually just Singapore, but I am sure they have their issues as well

2018-01-10 08:12:09 UTC

Problem is, its a very tiny country, with well no notable physical exports.

2018-01-10 08:12:17 UTC

ah, but that would be because they are much smaller and can micromanage everything

2018-01-10 08:12:23 UTC

exactly.

2018-01-10 08:12:32 UTC

I don't like it, but frankly, I do think it would be slightly better than our healthcare system as it is right now.

2018-01-10 08:13:13 UTC

I mean, I am not american but Ill speak from what I assume would be my perspective if I were one

2018-01-10 08:13:41 UTC

So, you're in a country that does have it then?
