A Poe?
Look up Poe's Law.
Essentially, I question whether or not he's been a performance art work of satire this whole time.
a joke that you cant tell cuz its close to being serious
Aka the onion these days
lol
That's true.
I generally see a facebook post from The Onion
question if that was a real thing
Through no fault of their own
thats why i wanna know if theres more to his white-nationalism,
cuz "lol pro-hitler"
and "gtfo nub" isnt productive and might be the joke
then see 'The Onion' byline, and that's the only way I know
Poor onion. They have become a real news site
I will credit Aryan with this: He's really refined my stance on Free Speech.
Oh?
Simply by having to deal with him, I've learned full and well to tolerate and combat ideas and speech I disagree with with more speech as opposed to trying to get him banned or blocking him, etc.
😛
The fact that I haven't taken the easy way and just blocked him, that's where I'm getting swole.
im indifferent, to me free-speech for such conversations lead to one of two things:
If it IS just a joke all along, good on him
If he's real, its just more rope for the noose around the argument
We've had some fun arguments with him in the past.
Granted, I would be very satisfied if he left of his own accord... 😛
Debates and spirited conversations about Net Neutrality are far more interesting.
Community run internet nodes. The solution to net neutrality
What's the closest parallel we have to that. Ham radio? Tor network?
It's already in digital form.
We've got Torrenting
and Blockchain
Only thing that's missing is the actual infrastructure then. Unless you suggest we just buy it off ISPs.
Oh, unless he's talking about infrastrucutre.
I guess I missed that.
Yes
Each town or city having their own internet node, hooked into an internet backbone
That puts government in the mix
and takes out open market.
I don't think you could fully decentralise to that degree without something going wrong.
Backbone access costs I think 1500 a month or so. A node I think costs between 5000 and 10000 in equipment. Plus what it costs to install the lines to the backbone or buy off the isp
You ever try tor?
It's a horrible user experience.
Tor is not the same as a node.
I'm referring to rye's comment about avoiding any sort of community-owned thing.
